Played a strong team plus Colin Doyle in net who retired about ten years ago but played really well tbf, Stockport keeper kept the score down as well as us fluffing about three one on ones.

Doyle played like he retired 10 years ago. Their first goal was a shocker for him to concede.

Would you really trust him to cover in an important league match if Walker gets suspended or injured?

They should be playing the young Iraqi keeper in these games and leave Doyle to coaching now

Sorry, meant the team played well rather than Doyle!

Sooner this completion is consigned to the bin, the better!

Would have life if revamped without the Premier League Under 14’s, but until that happens I will continue to steer clear.

We face the winner of Blackpool vs Villa u21.

Hoping for a Villa win, which will mean we then claim home advantage. Shame really, I would’ve conceded that for another trip to Villa Park.

Been confirmed that our tie with Aston Villa in the next round will take place at Villa Park.

Only tenner a ticket. Might pull decent numbers.

That’s not bad at all. Didn’t think they were allowed to play at home so you’ve got something decent out of this harrowing trophy at least

Got Wrexham tonight in this though Vale have announced there'll be a pitch inspection this morning so will see what happens there. Could do with getting this out the way win or lose rather than fixture congestion down the line.

Not too fussed as we play a weakened side usually anyway, expect it will be off if an inspection as usually is the case.

It will be off as had an inch of snow during the night plus another heavy snow shower for 30 minutes just. I also think the barrow game on Saturday will be off frozen pitch aswell which I ill make it difficult fitting these games in. Id ideally want this Wrexham game playing next Tuesday but Wrexham won't agree to that due to playing Thursday night despite both teams putting out reserves sides anyway. Also no doubt when it's called off hundreds of Wrexham fans will be straight on vales x account saying tinpot as if they have the facilities themselves to get these games on when it snows or freezes over.

The first comment on their twitter about it is "Mfers don't know how to maintain their lawn" which made me chuckle... a fan from Salt Lake City.

It was initially meant to be next Tuesday but they requested the change which wasn't ideal as it added another game every 3 days since Boxing Day.

Probably have to be Tuesday 21st as we are at Colchester the week after. If proactive maybe we could squeeze Barrow in for next Tuesday if its called off.

Game postponed. Could do without squeezing this in somewhere down the line but never mind. Miss the days you’d just get the orange ball out and play on with it.

Sounds like it was supporter safety around the stadium rather than the pitch

Not a shock looking at photos from around the ground.

We should just agree to flip a coin and not play the tie at all.

Unashamedly, tonight has a big game feel to it.

Fantastic surroundings though. Villa u21’s at Villa Park. Think we’re fetching 1,000+ down.

Anyone know if there’s any cup tie rules in this comp? Pretty sure George Lapslie, Tommy Leigh and Micky Mellon have all played for their previous/parent clubs in this comp already.

Cup tie rules are the same as the FA Cup I believe.

We're at home to Colchester this evening, having not played since New Year's Day. Expecting a strong team to be put out as a result, although mindful that Harrogate away is Friday evening

We'll know our potential Quarter Final opponents before we even play our Last 16 fixture, weirdly.

No idea what round we’re playing in tonight but got to admit I quite enjoy doing alright in this competition, still no idea how we didn’t beat Wycombe last year in the semi’s but there’s a definite freedom and better football played by us in this competition as if the pressure’s less than the league.

Peterborough away for us tonight. Expecting a heavily rotated team once again - who haven't let us down yet.

Rotherham at home for us tonight, suspect Cook will ring the changes but give Donacien and Pepple 45ish mins each. Not really bothered about the result.
