Yeah that penalty decision is an absolute disgrace and has definitely cost us at least a point.

Having said that, failure to deal with a last-gasp attack away from home has cost us yet again. 6 points dropped in stoppage time on the road and chucked away a two goal lead at Swansea too.
Agree .

We’d be fuming too .

Was a scrappy winner - we did our best to miss.

All kicked after the game as well as one of our lads did a “dance” in front of your fans.

Probably means your whole team will probably celebrate like that in the return !

Absolute disgrace. How did the officials decide that was a penalty.
As for your player taking the piss at least the ref got that right in booking him. Why do players find the need to taunt the away fans.

Probably cos the fans spend the previous 90 minutes calling the players c***, wankers, shit etc

Swansea away for us today. Hard to see anything other than another away defeat really. We were very fortunate to get a point in the reverse fixture only a couple of weeks ago.

People are desperate for us to move to 4 at the back but Edwards has been clear he doesn’t think we have the current players for it, which given our lack of genuine left back or left sided players I do actually agree with.

Toying with the idea of not bothering to watch today, we are just a such poor team to watch at the moment

Can’t give goals away like we have today and expect to win games. So soft

Couple of defenders needed in January

A pretty routine win although Wednesday did carry some threat and we had to defend well. Greenwood was good and nice to see Riis back in the goals.

I thought we controlled it first half but putting Gassama on for Chalobah in the second half to go after the game played right into your hands

Riis loves a goal against us. The fucker

Deserved Swansea win. We scored first through an error but was complete one way traffic and dominance even before the red card for Johnson and was 0 doubt in my mind that we would not hold out.

We really are just unbelievably bad at this moment, we look way way below Championship standard especially away from home. The injuries especially in wide areas are a real issue and not helping but it’s still not good enough. We won’t sack Edwards I don’t think so we need to have some major tricks up our sleeve in terms of recruitment this window.

West Brom (a) on NYD. A point would be good.

Potts is going to be out for 7-8 weeks which is a blow. Bowler made a surprise start yesterday and played well tbf, winning a penalty, so he might start again.

Lindsay is back and I'll be pretty pissed off if he comes straight back in, unless there are fitness issues.

Woodman
Storey - Whatmough - Hughes
Bowler - McCann - Thordarson - KKH
Greenwood - Frokjaer
Riis

We have Norwich at home (thank god) on NYD.

As ever with our home games this season, because the away form is so terrible it’s become another must win. With the Johnson red at Swansea we are further limited in left side options, so we might end up with Pieters getting a game.

Not looking forward to it, I would seriously doubt there is a worse footballing side, and a worse team to watch in the league at this moment than us.

Can't take anything away from North End, we were the better side with the ball but defended terribly, they were the more dominate side in the box and took advantage of our slips. We are an upper mid table side which after last season is progress.

Luton played away from home on the 29th December. So we lost.

End of message.

Time to switch off ..

Like our defence .

More shots and possessions doesn’t matter if you cannot do basic things .

Two brilliant goals today from Windass and Gassama

Although again fortunate to not concede more. Derby should have had a couple in the first half

We’ve played a lot worse than we did today and won games at home this season, but when you are side that struggles to create chances you are always liable to lose a close one. We’ve been relying on a bit of luck and tight margins at home for a while now and it’s just run out a bit today.

Got a little bit ugly at the end with quite a few boos for Edwards. I felt that unfair as wasn’t like the performance was poor albeit the result very much is.

The club for better or worse, are clearly going to give him this window and are going to try and bring in players to sort out our mess of a squad. Think we need to give them that opportunity before we all pull out the toxic home atmosphere stuff (I accept that this is likely a minority view granted)

This video really makes me feel awful...

The comments are not called for. Edwards is a human being - and a thoroughly good one at that. And one that deserves a legacy that is remembered forever.

Yes, I don't want him to be managing our club any longer... I've said this consistently for a couple of months now, but I'm totally gutted about the situation.

The longer this goes on, the more toxic this becomes. Some of the things that he's said in the media however are becoming more than slightly delusional. He is simply refusing to learn and change things. Chalk and cheese with what he said post Middlesbrough where he stated he didn't want to be divisive. Now he's wanting to protect his £1.5M pay off.

For what it's worth, Wayne Rooney has supposedly waived his £1M compensation payout.

Football seems to be only industry where you can not perform and get paid whilst being fired.

Yes sounded like you were unlucky - even the BBC said so but only can happen so many times I guess.

Sdly people do get very emotional and wound up on things like X and tend to get away with it too when they wouldn't say it to someones face in public.

I have some complex views on this topic now. Personally i think if the club were going to let him go, it had to be after the Boro game. It felt the "right" time to do it, Edwards was clearly struggling and probably mentally ready to let go, there was the international break to take stock, plus a decent chunk of time to prep for a pivotal Transfer window with a new manager.

After that game and the fact they DIDNT let him go, the tacit statement from the club was clear - we are backing him. I think its really counterproductive for us fans to keep banging on about him going and now its very much the WRONG time to sack him now. Sacking him at this point, where you would hope very significant preparation work has been done with him for the transfer window would i think be worse than keeping him and potentially set us back very much further.

So whilst i was Edwards out back after the Boro game, Im Edwards in at this point, not neccesarily because im super pro Edwards, but because i think getting in a new manager at this point will potentially be worse and potentially chuck out with the bathwater what im hoping are carefully laid plans for this and the next window.

Not necessarily having a go at you Ken, but i also am beginning to despair at this attitude of "do something different". Perhaps today that might be a fair criticism, but i really feel that in some recent games the injuries and current status of the squad has really limited what he CAN do. People keep banging on about Chong playing wing back, but whats he supposed to have been doing given we have just gone well over a month without viable LB/LWB options? Really think post Boro debacle (and it was), hes been massivley hamstrung in his options because the squad is massivley imbalanced and injury has killed any potential creativity he could have done tactically.
