Good point considering the surprise win at Norwich. 0-0 was a cert. Hopefully Osmajic actually hasn't said anything racist to Hannibal, although not sure it can be proved.

Wow

Cannot believe we haven’t won that

Dominated from start to finish. Just could not put the ball in the net (even Coventry done that for us)

Then an absolute clanger from Beadle in injury time. Absolutely sickening. I always defend Beadle as he gets a bit of stick but there’s no defending that. He’s shit himself taking a high ball because 1 player put him under, resulting in a tap in for Simms

Great win and a clean sheet which must admit wasn't expecting given the back 4 probably had never even trained together let alone start a game away to one of the top teams.

Nice to score from a corner and a shut out for Selvik.

How typical of us to suddenly look decent away from home as the home form goes to pot.

Let's hope that isn't the case next week though!

Best we have played in an absolute eternity and still lost so that’s how well it’s all going for us!

Should have been ahead in the first half, Aasgaard looked really lively, hit the post and Adebayo missed what looked a sitter with him and Jones queuing up at the back stick to put it in.

Second half was more even and they had some good chances whilst Cooper made some good saves. Then the usual McGunniess switch off happens and we lose.

Frustrating but came to terms with the relegation after the midweek game so nice to just see some semblance of a way of playing forming.

Very good away win today. Not a classic, but kept oxford to minimal chances. Thought after getting the goal early in the 2nd half with a Thunderbolt (1 yard scuffed tap in) we had some very good chances to get a 2nd. Oxford then threw everything at us. Schmid with a stunning save and a few missed free headers. Nice to get that last min 2nd to close the game. Huge away win. Doubled our away win total lol

Looks very solid so far.
Yes great block at the end too .

Burnley fans not happy with the ref - guess that is because they feel there was a penalty shout late on .

But think your lad got the ball.

Yep. The slightest of touches but still a touch. Their player was already going down anyway. Horrible team of entitled cheats, I'll be delighted if they don't go back up.

Millwall at home next, they're going well under Alex Neil, but we're pretty strong at home. Another draw to add to our long tally wouldn't be a surprise.

A win would leave us only 4pts off 6th.

McCann back in for Ledson, and maybe Brady in for Meghoma would be my changes from the Burnley game. Hopefully Osmajic starts but not sure if he will while he's under investigation for saying something racist to that Mejbri. He strongly argues he was misheard, guy barely knows any English.

Woodman
Porteous - Gibson - Hughes
KKH - McCann - Thordarson - Brady
Potts - Frokjaer
Osmajic

Another big match on Saturday. QPR are a mixed bag. On their day a very good side, but very much a good midtable side from what I've seen. They possess some proper "match winners" as proved V Derby. Some stunning strikes kicked that game off and they just looked like scoring every time they got forward. We're on a very good run at home having only lost the 1 match at home since 25th October... Can we make it 3 wins on the spin which would be an amazing acheivment. Going to be hard as unless a miracle happens we'll be missing Callum Lang who has been incredile this season, although he's looked tired for a last few weeks. Also missing Conor Shaughnessy who game back from injury scored a goal, then pulled his Hamstring (typical of us this season) Plus points are 20 year old Aussie Hayden Matthews has come in and been outstanding at the back. Looks every bit a potential Premier league centre back in the making. Mark O'Mahoney who scored the 2nd v Oxford back from 12 weeks out gives at least Bishop the chance to come off without making our front line look weaker. Sunderland loanie Adil Aouchiche will most likely replace Lang at number 10. He's not the bussling type that Lang is, but technically looks very good on the ball. I'm going for a 2-1 win again

You would have got good odds on Struijk being the Leeds hero off the bench .

Very dramatic stuff .

That is probably Leeds up now ?

Two top is done, neither of those sides will slip up. Too much quality, with experienced managers.

I understand squad rotation but that starting eleven was bollocks. Looked far more effective with Frokjaer and Osmajic on and the pressure was all us.

Gave away far too many cheap free kicks in the first half and it was a given they'd score one.

Can't see either team finishing higher than 10th or lower than 15th.

As you would expect a really poor game, no quality on the ball and felt like no one had any time whatsoever on the ball all night.

Plymouth were defensively organised, the Ukrainian centre half who scored from there only genuine attempt of the game probably the best player on the pitch as he won everything. Having said that we still had a great chance to win it through Brown but 4 yards out free header he puts it straight at the keeper.

In the searching for positives side of the equation Nordas looked lively and worked hard, there’s a player in Aasagaard to build around and Jones should cause problems in L1 with his pace. The rest of them…less said the better and I’ll be glad to see the back of a lot of them.

Is Bloomfield likely to last the season?
It’s football so you never know but I’m pretty sure 2020 will back him regardless of what happens between now and the end of the season. Theres a weird sort of apathy come over the place of late with people beginning to accept the relegation is going to happen, whilst also accepting that it’s not really Bloomfields fault. Maybe that changes if we don’t get a win between now and the end of the season but I think most people’s anger will fall on the board and the players before Bloomfield and therefore there won’t be a momentum to get rid before next season.

Personally I’m not convinced by him, but I think there’s been a lot else wrong beside him and he deserves a pre season at the very least to get things on an even keel again. My own view, which I doubt is shared by many that they may as well have hung onto Edwards though. The team is performing no different now than under him, and given the players available Edwards would have had us play exactly the same way as we did tonight as Bloomfield did

Yeah, I would imagine you’ll have a mass clearout in the summer, and given your resources anyway, plus the parachute payment, you’d have to be favourites to come straight back up.

I do think he’s got a lot of potential as a manager and never wanted him to leave, but we are where we are.

He did already manage to turn round a sinking ship once at Col U, plus he had a poor spell at us which he resolved by binning off a bunch of players and bringing in better ones.

Not sure what kind of leeway he had to bring in players in January but it doesn’t seem to have worked, obviously there was money there though with the multiple Kone bids.

Hmm…heard that one before somewhere.

We haven’t handled having money at all well and probably a decent chunk of it isn’t actually available as it’s gone on the new stadium. With the relegation I’m actually slightly concerned things will be a lot tighter budget wise than we realise.

Coventry away. Lampard actually doing a good job. Not expecting anything in this one, but I thought the same about Norwich.

So we spent £7M on two youngish players and they’re nowhere to be seen tonight. One is “for the future” playing in the U21s.

I despair with this club at the moment. Our recruitment has gone from being excellent to “trusting in data” in no time at all. The problem is half the players Luton signed wouldn’t have been done so on data.

I don’t necessarily blame Bloomfield for this, but he’s now had 7 games and returned a grand total of 3 draws and 4 defeats. It’s not great is it? I wasn’t convinced at the time, but at £100K to release him from Wycombe it was clearly the cheap option. He’s too inexperienced at this level considering the position we’re in, having barely played in it and not managed in it. If we were mid table we’d have got away with a couple of poor months whilst he was getting used to the club.

He isn’t going anywhere though - he is on a contract until 2028.

It needs an overhaul from top to bottom. And if we get relegated, we need a change at the very top and a new CEO who has presided over this debacle in the last 18 months.

Hard to argue with any of this. Sweet and 2020 have huge huge credit but the last 18 months have been mismanaged and there needs to be some culpability for that somewhere.

The playing side has clearly been a big issue and as you point out recruitment is a shambles, there is also major issues with strength & conditioning and medical too given the never ending injury list we seem to have too. Going off the press conference after Edwards was as sacked it’s obvious Sweet is still deeply involved in the playing side and I can’t see how that’s possible given how much is going on the stadium that he is also deeply involved with.

It’s obvious in other areas like club/fans communication, even the kit and club shop debacle. The only conduit of information we seem to get at the moment from the board is programme notes and last nights, arguably the biggest game of the season for our faint survival hopes, were written by the clubs HR Director. No disrespect to them but I’m not interested in what they have to say - we need to hear from the top and not the absolute inanity we have got so far this season in them.

I’m hoping Sweet and the board are just trying to stay out of the way let the management team and players focus on finishing out the season as best it can and once the season is over we hear from Sweet about major reforms in the clubs structure. At minimum a Director of Football to preside over changes in the playing side and allow him to focus on business operations or something of that nature. I don’t want him to step down as he’s been a fantastic figurehead and custodian of the club - but something has to change.

We should have beat them last week but for a bit of luck and the keeper not dropping the fucking ball.

We are at Burnley, on telly, that's my early night sorted as the sisters fuckers bore the division to death
