I'm still waiting to see if we can keep this going until the end of the season. Because this season is closely following last season so far, at least in terms of results. Slow start, didn't lose many up until December. Have our festive/new year wobble then go on a great run in January. Looking at our points after each game, we've closely mirrored last season's points total after each game.

If we can avoid the final 10 game meltdown, we'll be in contention for a top 3 spot. Long way to go yet though.

I'm biding my time. We're in a good position but Wimbledon disappoint at times. If our injured players come back as new we should win automatic promotion. This is a good squad. Will we do it? If we do it will be our first automatic promotion since the Conference South in 2009.

what's Matt Stevens like? we've been linked by the rumour mongers

You can have Palmer back in exchange

We were in the hunt this time last season on paper until we fell off a cliff but in truth were nowhere near good enough defensively.
This season, as long as we keep what we have and don't get an injury crisis we look much more likely to go the distance.
We're playing well, free scoring and now keeping clean sheets and have a stronger squad overall than last season, really we've pretty much everything needed for a promotion push although I'd like another striker to come in as cover for Jatta.

You can do better with your resources. Not sure swapping him for Palmer is an upgrade

Yes there is no way this will happen. You will be aiming higher than him

I think the thing that really works in our favour is that we're well placed to cope with injuries - I think goalkeeper and RWB are the only positions where we don't have decent depth and I believe we've got funds to bring some players in this month (and it helps that we're getting a great deal for CO'R)

All makes sense but our style to date isn't effective against the top teams who play noticeably more direct. Unless that changes it's playoffs at best.

True, but we're not the same team of six weeks ago. We've looked the part the last few weeks, including against Walsall where we should have been out of sight after the first half.
Post Salford we've changed, noticeably more direct going forwards ourselves and teams are struggling to contain us.
Long way to go and the last few could be a blip but we look the part to me in a way we didn't for the first three months.
