The thing is even if the linesman thought the ref had that goal line watch thing surely after a few seconds when he realises the ref is playing on he should have then flagged for the goal as it wasn’t exactly a close call.
Who knows what's gone through his head. Lad on the pod that's a ref was at the game, said the liner was categorical at the time, waving his arms adamant it hadn't crossed.

After the game he told players his view was blocked...then he's told PGMOL he was expecting goal line technology say if it had crossed or not. Keeps changing his version of events.

Penultimate game of the season if we’re still in the mix we’ll take way more than a thousand there.
Yeah if we are in a position to secure a playoff spot then it's gonna be more like 3000+. As LM says it's an easy one of the the South East Mariners. I know a few who have said they'll never go to MK but we'll see what these folk are saying if we're in a position to get our first fourth tier playoff spot in almost 20 years.

The thing is - this shit happens. You can't change it so there's no point crying over it.

I think what it shows is the impact technology like VAR is having on the standard of refereeing. If you look at offside decisions from before VAR then the linesmen/women tended to get a vast majority correct. Now, because they're used to doing matches with VAR they're becoming complacent and dependant on technology.

As for the linesman in the Bromley-Vale game, of course he knows League 2 games don't have technology, but I work for a number of clients in my job as an outsourced insurance claims adjuster and each one has its own points of authority which require referral into that client. On more than one occasion I've made the mistake of dealing with a claim that was above my autonomy because I forgot which client I was working on. I'm only human and so is said linesman.

No-one's missing your point, the simple fact is no-one really cares and it's more light-hearted and fun to take the piss out of the corruption takes that you and other Vale fans started spouting when it first happened.

Exactly. On the point. Nothing missed.

Thank you to everybody else for placating mozza with some responses.

If his view is blocked and he can't be certain the ball went over, he can’t give the goal can he? If he had given it and it was wrong, what would the other team be saying? And goal line technology is a fail safe to aid the referees who often get stuff wrong. Not saying he’s not an idiot for not realising about goal line technology in League 2 but the story does stand up.

As for him being promoted to the Championship, there’s only so many referees in the pool. As much as I hate referees, the only way they get better is through experience (minus ones like Trevor Kettle).

But there was views showing he had a clear view afterwards. Like I say, it's the changing stories that show he knows he messed up.

Are there never lessons to learn, things to discuss after games? This was a topic worthy of discussion, a point proven by the fact you've taken the time to reply with such a lengthy post, on a subject you apparently care so little about. If you genuinely don't care, move on and leave the discussion to the grown ups.

Yeah, those responses kind of pissed on your chips a little bit didn't they? Nice attempt at a save mind.

At least you and a few others can at least admit now, you're here as WUMs. For the bants .

I just about remember when I was in my teens too. Whenever you're ready join the adults, feel free to add a post of value.

This is why people have decided to just take the piss instead, because you've been such a fucking cry baby over it - to such an extent that even when someone has decided to discuss the issue you've decided to come in with the "leave the discussion to the grown ups" spiel.

It's impossible to have a discussion with you when in the past you've been the biggest baby on here over the subject at hand.

FWIW - I have adult children, and I also have 7 year old twins who are less precious than you.

Blimey, is he still spitting his dummy? I for one promise never again to refer to epic meltdowns that happened more than a week ago and are ancient history. I bet he'd love it if Vale finished above us now though. Love it.

No buddy I'm just glad somebody else responded...... eventually as you were basically talking to yourself and pleading for others to join in for a serious debate.

Remember your mirror comment the other day? WUM? You'll never find them on football forums :ffs:

Here's a little tip for you maybe don't take things so seriously :bg:

Well no that's not how it went is it. I posted a bit of an update following our meeting the manager event. You and a few others failed to comprehend the message, dreamt up another motive and ran with it. My replies were attempts to steer you back on track...I failed, big time.

Thankfully a few adults joined in and a civil discussion ensued.

You, womble and Si openly admit you're only here for the giggles. But at the same time, don't care about the topic. Odd, I know.

If this discussion isn't for you, there's others you could ruin. Fill your boots. Leave this one to the grown ups.

Uh, you know hardly anyone comes to the internet for a serious discussion right? This place is like 98% porn or something like that

Good recap although you conveniently missed the bit when you asked a fine young chap "Are you fucking thick?". Oh how very grown up of you.

The few adults, and few is very apt, eventually joined in after you finished stomping your feet and pleading for someone to debate it with you.

If you really are that emotive, thin skinned and easily upset maybe an internet football forum isn't the right place for you.

As someone else accurately said "hate to break it to you, but you're in the wrong place mate."

Chill out dude.

You strike me, Viking, as the type of person who projects his insecurities onto others.

You dislike being patronised, so you attempt to patronise. You get easily wound up, so you tell others not to get wound up. You're quite emotive, so tell others not to be so emotive. You're thin skinned, so call people thin skinned. And appropriately sign off with chill out.

I got you absolutely bang on when I said you should be saying all this in the mirror.

You also crave the last word, it's essential for your peace of mind. I'll afford it to you as I bow out of this playground nonsense. So make it a good one

Spot on, nailed it, incredible work.

You sir are absolutely wasted spending your time getting upset, losing your head and rudely asking someone, they don't know, "how fucking thick are you?"

This is the biggest waste of talent since Ravel Morrison.

You hate to see it.
