Insane especially considering how bad that ice cream stand is too.

Agreed it’s a terrible stand and a right hazard going down those steps to the loo also, £28 is crazy for league 1 or 2.

They should be ashamed. Whoever took this decision wants sacking! Already higher than everyone else at this level, let's increase it more for good measure.

Literally one of the worst grounds and away ends in the league, which makes it all the more laughable. If they didn't have that massive main stand, it'd be a National League standard ground.

Madness, especially considering the facilities, Peterborough charged that in L1 and that seemed disgraceful.

Notts have introduced a home membership (£20, entitling you to a £2 discount on tickets and some minimal priority for cup games), a charge for buying in-person or over the phone (£1.50 per ticket) and have raised individual prices by £2 per ticket across the board. This makes an adult ticket bought from the ticket office on matchday £27.50, compared to a member buying online before matchday at £22.

Not 100% sure yet how this will affect away fans but I assume that the prices will be the same as for non-member home fans, £24 online or bought through your club in advance and £26 on the day through the same methods. I assume the £1.50 will only apply if we're handling away tickets for your club.

Seems overly complicated to be honest, I'll definitely get to more than 10 home games and buy online so it may be a similar cost per game for me in the end (as they've removed the ticket admin fee online). For casual fans who might not be aware or tech-literate that price is likely to put some off. I get the desire to push people online as it's cheaper for the club but I'd have thought maximising the numbers through the door would ultimately offset the cost of having people on the phone/ticket office.

For what its worth with the membership Vale do similar with the Club 1876 membership and it works exactly like you say. Away fans get the full price and home fans if they're a member get I think it was £4 off if they purchase before the day of the game. Think we've had it a couple of years now and replaced the old 10 game flex ticket we used to have.

Slightly off-topic, but ticket related nevertheless.

Our match-day admission prices are frozen for the third consecutive season.

Adult (24-64): £20

Senior (65+): £18

Young Person (17-23): £18

Youth (12-16): £10

Junior (11-): £5

Prices increase £2-£5 if you’re paying on the day. Must be one of the cheaper away days in this league going by some of the prices I’m seeing elsewhere.

Can't grumble at £20 really. We will be £23/£24 next season in the East for away fans. Mental really

Sold over 5,000 ST now.

Still to add hospitality to that too.

Could potentially beat last year's figure.

We did around 5200 i think , somebody counted them as the club didn't even let the fans know -they actively didn't push season tickets at all once 5k was reached . it's all a bit weird with us atm not much from the club apart from generic tweets from them for weeks . No signings,no news , nothing . Some are not too pleased .

Let's hope it gets a bit better when it kicks off otherwise could be meltdown .

Yeah plenty not happy and I'm usually of the opinion that once we're a bit into the seaaon it'll be time to judge things and that the naysayers are being overly pessimistic but I kind of get it to a certain degree this season. Midfield and attack recruitment obviously hasn't worked as well as the defensive side of things to a point whereby it's becoming a concern with time now really running out.

I think the new owners are probably feeling the pressure of trying to run the club on a sensible wage budget. They managed to squeeze a lot of momentum and excitement out last pre-season with a load of early signings off the back of a decent season and incredible cup run but I think what we're seeing for the first time under Stockwood and Pettit is very much a run of the mill pre-season.

I'm not sounding any alarm bells just yet but I'll be a bit disappointed if we start the seaaon without another first team midfielder and attacker in the squad, and by that I don't mean 19 year old loanees from Norwich or something. Artell has alluded to the transfer window closing at the end of August and not before the start of the season which doesn't fill me with confidence though.

Agree mate . I'm pretty level headed with it all but slightly concerned .

I think my main worry is it implodes early and we start badly because i think the naysayers as you put it would turn on Artell , Stockwood and Pettit pretty quickly . I really don't want any drama/sackings or chaos behind the scenes just a solid to good season . We rarely get those though do we

Clubs will only want to sell so many as you’ll lose out on match day income, especially if you only have limited home capacity like both of us, we’ve sold 6,300 but the home ends only hold 6,900 until the bishop st is sorted, makes sense you’d got quiet on it.

Obviously a gamble if your season doesn’t go to plan of course.

Logical point ,the issue is we have had 2 good league seasons in 25 years or whatever it is , I'm looking at other squads in league 2 and struggling to find too many worse than ours as it stands of now lol.

Looking even worse now Curtis Thompson to miss the first 10 weeks of the season injured.

The meltdown on SM will reach epic levels now , have to admit I'm a bit concerned myself if the indication is true that we will just bring some hit or miss kids in on loan - is the budget a lot lower than what originally was planned ? .

I’m not sure but this is the most apprehensive I’ve been before a season starting, Artell’s ideas on how to play football I’m all for if you have the players to play it, but I feel like we’re well short.
Dreading it to be honest.

Hurst would be much better in this situation. He got stick from your fans for being boring but I like him. Honest manager who gets results.

I know you spent more last summer due to the cup run the season prior but where has the money gone for Conteh to Bristol Rovers this summer? Why did Jason Stockwood step down? Seemed odd, he was always waxing lyrical about Grimsby in the bars of Prestbury and the same with his articles in the Guardian.

Stockwood hasn’t stepped down, him and Pettit are exactly as they were before but now Pettit will be doing the media stuff, they agreed it at the start that Stockwood would do it for 3 years first and then Pettit would take over.

He's still there it's just him and the co owner agreed to do 3 years each it just happened Stockwood did the first 3 years . He's still waxing lyrical although not enjoying some of the stick he's now taking after the honeymoon period is seemingly over . Decent lads tbf , I just think they misjudged the amount it takes even at league 2 to 'go right through ' as they put it they are 5-7 million in already or thereabouts in 3 years .

Conteh money probably is going towards the ground and extensive work on the Main Stand - they said they stand to lose about 2 million this coming season - at least half of thats probably on the ground though .

I am/was a big Hurst fan but it just went weird/stale at the end tbh . The board wanted a specific playing style and he could never deliver an Artell way of playing for example . Whether we are better of trying to go down this route time will tell . I am very much on the fence but willing to give them time ; doubtful others will be so patient especially if we start losing by 4 , 5 and 6's at home again .

I’m convinced Stockwood abused your mother or something?

Jump on any post that mentions Grimsby and Stocky will be there expressing his dislike of Jason in some form or other. Just weird

First I hate Artell, now I hate Jason Stockwood. The Grimsby fans do seem paranoid. This is why I didn't put them in the bottom two in my much anticipated predictions post. I didn't want to cause a scene.

5457 sold now which is an incredible effort after the last 18 months, at last seasons level pretty much, after the hard work of increasing our support base by 1500-2000 into the last promotion season I thought we’d lose a lot of what we gained after last season but seems not.
