Think last night realistically has seen exeter safe, and a useful point for wigan too.

Mansfield could’ve collected a point too, but why do that when you can lose and make things difficult instead. urgh.

Burton host an indifferent huddersfield side while Bristol rovers face exeter, a game they’d surely be eyeing up for a win.

If both win then it’s going to become tight for the rest of us.

Seriously? No way in hell Mansfield go down at this stage. The Gas are the only ones above the line with reason to be nervous.

I see Rovers have said Saturday's game is crucial. With us then playing Burton on Friday we are having a big say in this now.
Should be safe, unless we lose them both..

Well Saturday should be the day our league 1 run comes to an end. Must win all 5 of our games and hope Bristol lose all of theirs to have a chance. Won't happen

Yeah, you're cooked when we do the double over you! This weekend stinks of a Bristol Rovers win, leaving it all but done for everyone but Burton over the following weekend.

Bristol Rovers have to win this one you’d think, looks like their best chance compared to the other games. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Burton get something against Huddersfield.

When you’ve won 3 games this year you don’t tend to be as optimistic.

Big day for us tomorrow without playing, if burton/Bristol rovers don’t win at home i’ll be a little happier but think one will sneak a win.

For what its worth it may well end up being the best thing to happen to you. Go down reset and assuming you're not a total clownshoes operation like Carlisle or FGR should consolidate and build back up. Got to be better than just circling the drain every season. Got nauseating for me and we only had the two seasons in L1 before it caught up with us. Was actually a relief once we got relegated.

The whole club needs a reset. The chairman wants out, a large proportion of the fans want him out and some investment. We've played defensive football for years and had the most defeats in the EFL over the last 5 years.

Would like to think the current top setup has enough to not do a Carlisle or Forest Green. The worry is that we've still got 13 under contract for next season. Appleton is making noises that he'd like to stay, so if that's the case he'll get a good look before pre season.

Our CEO recently said that our budget now is mid table L2, so not expecting a promotion push, but just winning some games more consistently would be nice

I'm going on a limb you'll be wanting no part of taking Ojo permanently?

Truth be told you don't need a massive budget, Grimsby I don't think are massive spenders but they have the manager appointment right and truthfully thats most the battle, say the same for Walsall too even if their fans seem to have soured on Sadler a bit. That is pretty much where Carlisle went wrong. Who would have thought when sacking Simpson that appointing a "philosophy manager" who preaches possession based football was the answer to getting out of the rut they were in? The league itself is very much of a muchness, us in 2nd are not that much better than those at the bottom truth be told. Makes for a fun league at least even if the quality isn't great.

Pretty sure we won't be taking him permanently. In fairness I don't think he's done as badly as spme of our fans have made out. The problem is I can't work out what he's supposed to do. Most games when he gets the ball he tends to go at best sideways or generally backwards. I think he's looked better when allowed to get into more advanced positions, even though he hasn't scored. If he's still under contract at Vale then we won't be taking him.

It'll be interesting seeing us up against a few new teams and teams that we've not played for a while, the likes of Chesterfield (if they don't crash the play off picture), Newport, Barrow, Harrogate, Bromley and Barnet amongst others, plus renewing acquaintances with Gareth Ainsworth. Hopefully we won't have to wait another 15 years before the Wrexham Derby game

Holy moly, Brovers in the drop zone for the first time, six defeats on the bounce.

Sales of brown trousers starting to take off in BS7…

Shrewsbury formally gone - us and Crawley limp on after two very good results.

Commiserations Shrewsbury.

A lot depends on the takeover as to your potential fortunes next season, so fingers crossed with that.

The Gas/Burton battle remains an epic for our times.

At half time with us losing at rotherham and Brovers winning at wrexham there were a few of us starting to get a little concerned shall we say, at the time we were only 2 points apart, but with wrexham getting an equaliser and us gaining the point at rotherham it’s changed the dynamics.

We’re still not safe, but (whisper it quietly) we’ve one foot here next season - again it would be a remarkable achievement with the budget and injuries we’ve had to do so.

Useless bastards couldn’t beat Burton for us, or was that your attempt at sabotage towards Brovers? If so fair play.
No we tried but we are down to one fit forward these days, and Sonny Cox seems out of it. Caldwell them takes off anyone with attacking threat, like Cole and Watts, and we have a goal marginally ruled out for offside. Actually thought we were there for the taking had Burton gone for it, and Mondays results are likely to see them back in the relegation zone as a result.

You feel monday is now or never for bristol rovers, a team on holiday safely in midtable and nothing to play for is the perfect game, especially with burton at home to bham.

We won't be back for a while without a takeover. The players have completely downed tools since Ainsworth has left (and possibly before). Problem is 13 are still signed on for next season

It really is the hope that kills you. I’m sure every team can look back but it’s hard not to dwell on the games where we have blown 3 goal leads.
Our fate should have been sealed by now but the players have shown real fight in the last couple games. Even more frustrating that we have looked too good to go down on a number of occasions. Just far too naive defensively.
Still very unlikely but the last time Lindsey was in a relegation battle with us we escaped on the final day. Unlikely it will get that far, really need Cambridge to do us a favour against Burton next week. Fancy us to win our final 2 games though.

Never it is then.
You are lucky we are so awful. Any other side apart from us would you had you boys shaking like a shitting dog. The only player to come out of credit of late has only just turned 18 and was playing the first half of the season for Yeovil. Sums us up.

Yeah, it's not great being less shit than someone else, but i'd have taken it at the start of the season.
