Superb idea. Hope teams reciprocate. .... Leeds probably won't though.

Sadly I do not think many clubs will match as they want their money.

Believe it was only Cardiff and Aston Villa who offered us £20 away tickets last season. And we were still getting charged up to £40..

Always nice to see another club lower their prices though, especially Ipswich as it has been one of the more expensive away games at this level.

Did you proactively approach other clubs or just offer the lower prices? Sounds like Town are only doing it to the clubs that agree to do the same

Most clubs have a Cap on the QUANTITY of Away fans.
Be it Police, H&S or Segregation and so on that influence the quantity.

Under those parameters it isn't a real money-bonanza for medium sized Championship clubs. It may be for a small/new club with the space and expectations, but paying for a new level of policing for the "Bigger Club" followers will make them realise.

Also, Clubs are allowed to reduce their entrance fees for about ~ I think ~ 6/8 Homes per season. To encourage supporter drives and sponsorship promotions etc.

On that basis, they have to offer their cheapest tickets to visiting fans as well as their own.
Blues have had "Kids for aQuid", "£10 anywhere" etc since the days of Gold/Sullivan, and have had to give visiting fans those same offers. (It's in the Rules :bg:)
Usually with the clubs that have small followings admittedly ~ but having a MAXIMUM CAP is a good PR move.
It won't affect Villa/Wolves/Blues/Derby/Forest... because they will charge Prem Prices for those Derbies.....imo...

I imagine we'll agree to that, given we're there on a Tuesday night and we never travel well to Ipswich anyway

£25 is still too much but in context (as in considering what the like of Wednesday/Leeds/QPR charge) it's a good initiative and hopefully more clubs follow suit.

Word is that six have agreed already and others are interested. If half the teams in the league sign up then I'd say that's a good effort.

Isn't £25 about what most clubs charge in this league? I know Ipswich were charging daft prices so it's nice to see them come down and we'll have a few more travel for that reason, but I think it's got to be £20 like Reading did for it to be an impressive offer.

We'll charge Ipswich fans £25 anyway which is all good.

We've reduced all of our match day prices for this season so it'll be a bit cheaper (£30) for those clubs who don't agree to £25 as well.

Wednesday have charged £34 for Wolves fans last few season, in their defence though it's rare you get to experience true Victorian era stadium and facilities so I suppose we are paying for the costs of historical renovation needed to keep it at that level.

They charged us £42 the other year as well, was an uproar.

It's nice to know we're paying Jordan Rhodes' wages though right?

Whilst it's a step in the right direction excuse me if I fall short at heaping praise upon Ipswich who, up until this initiative, have been in the top 3 most expensive away grounds for the last 5/6 seasons in what has to be one of the worst away 'ends' in the league.

£36 for my last couple of visits iirc :eye:

I'd be much more impressed with Wolves owners if they dumped all ticket prices, home and away. To £20, than by trying to sign Porto midfielders with audacious bids like they've found the premiership manager 93 money code.

This is going better than I expected - 12 clubs now agreed, others considering, only one outright rejection.

Probably QPR. Charging us £33 when we will only be asking them for £20.

I wonder how long we will continue to back twenties plenty if all it is doing is benefiting every other teams in the leagues fans more than our own.

Probably Wednesday, got a nice 1870 merry-go-round being installed I heard, sadly it's more modern than the rest of the ground but they felt that it still represents the era well enough.

Wolves have capped away prices at £25 too, although I think it was the same last season.

Was it bollocks, we paid 30 quid whilst your fans paid about a tenner.

Ah you are right. Most games were 25 quid, selected ones were more expensive. I remember you returned the favour for us up at your place.
