Horrible live game on BT Sport now, frustrating to see us choose taking the TV money over putting results first when our two first choice centre mids are on international duty

Better than what we had before but that's not saying much! He clearly knows how to play the position and does offer us a bit of a focal point as opposed to the headless chickens we've had there since Wright's injury. If we had our two wide players fit I think he'd be an able deputy for Wright but without them we simply have no pace in the side and don't create any chances and he's not mobile enough to create anything for himself.

Never saw anything of Kerr as he was "injured" the whole time he was here. Seems it was more of a mental issue than physical though as he was straight into your side I see. Plenty of players do struggle living so far from home and it's especially hard in these Covid times when you're stuck in digs with nothing to do.
Yep he’s the typical old fashioned number 9, fox in the box type striker. Rarely has much influence or involvement other than getting on the end of things in the box, so to get the best out of him he needs service.

Yep the way he’s been playing here suggests that he’s very settled back up north. As you say, it can’t be easy for any player living in digs at any point, never mind during a pandemic. He’s been part of a defence that’s kept an impressive 8 clean sheets in the last 12, so couldn’t be more pleased with him really

Crap day for us at Meadow Lane. But thanks to Halifax, Daggers, KL, and Stockport/Pools for softening the blow a little. Just the 6 games in hand on Pools now, but don’t bet on us winning any of them!

Fuming with that. Throwing playoff hopes away for some TV cash.

With you having so many games left to play I imagine you wouldnt have had much choice? was it an option ?
Anyway little part-time Alty just about deserved the win according to the pundits.

Yes, we had every right to call off the game due to 3 international call ups. We did call off the Barnet game on Tuesday for the same reason, but decided to play this one with a second string midfield so we could take the TV cash. Just a cynical money grab.

Poor game between two poor teams but you guys did deserve the win.

Didn’t really have to do much to beat Torquay, almost gave it away at the end but I’d say we were worth the 3 points. They won’t be bothering promotion spaces unless they have a big turnaround.

Just glad to see us win at home for once, lots of our players are playing for their future but other than that season is over now so not sure what to expect from upcoming games.

A Bromley player appeared to deliberately stamp on the head of Dior Angus, missed by the referee but clear on the cameras. Angus went mental and later explained that the same player also did it last season to a Barrow player.

Looks like the squad and management team wrote off the season after the Hereford FA trophy shambles a few weeks ago. Didn’t threaten Solihull at al today, even when they had 9 men for the last 10 minutes. What a write off this whole season has been.

Chris Bush... one of the few players I know at this level that plays for another team, and for all the wrong reasons.

Always acted like an absolute SCUM bag whenever we come up against him for the likes of Ebbsfleet and Bromley. From what I’ve seen of him in the past, absolutely no doubt in my mind he’s meant that. Deserves a lengthy ban and heavy fine, vile human being.

Simpson is the only long throw payer in our squad and he rarely plays. As for set pieces don’t all side’s try and make use of them? Have to say you were the better side and we were lucky to get a poin.
We've barely scored from a set piece all season, we don't look as though we even practice them, almost ALL our goals this season have come in open play. Thats what makes us such a great team to watch. :ds:

Just noticed it wasn’t a bad day’s results for us now we’re over our shaming in the Trophy.

We’ve got Aldershot on Tuesday as one of our million games in hand. They any good/can they press a bit?

I'm not over that disgrace a day later. Honestly think it's the worst result I've ever seen us get.
Need the win on Tuesday

We’ve had far worse in the FA Cup. Salford and Havant just in relatively recent times.

No, can confirm we really aren’t very good. You should be back to winning ways come 9.30pm on Tuesday.

Unless the Shots undergo a seismic change , you’ll walk away with the points on Tuesday. I have seen them play a pressing game, but unfortunately get easily caught on the counter. At the moment we are very far from good, the website reaction after Saturday’s abject defeat is the most vitriolic yet.
Strikers in particular are having a terrible run of form.
My only hope is that they start playing for a new contract. Somethings gotta change ,or 90% of ‘em will be out of a job.

Disagree on that. Yesterday was a semi final against a team way below us that had no recent match practice and everything against them. Still we couldn't muster ourselves to see the last ten minutes out.

Anyway, looks like Doyle's going to be out on Tuesday so there'll be a change in midfield.
My head says we should win, we're in decent form but who knows. It all feels like the usual turmoil is back and the new man needs to hit the ground running to calm things if nothing else.

I'm not familiar with Notts' darkest moments over the years but that result on Saturday is a total embarrassment and you should all rightly be ashamed. Just not sure which Trophy final Hornchurch have now got to, 2018, 2019, 2020 or 2021?

It’ll be interesting to see us without Doyle. He must have played every league match for over a year since whenever his last red card was. I know our record without him in the team was excellent last season and our best performance this year came with him in goal, but coincidences happen..

To clarify, Notts will still be playing in the final, as soon as it can be arranged.

You're welcome.
