Oh come on get a grip. He’s obviously gone for the ball and not the keeper. He should have headed it following the bounce but it is what it is. It is a red but you make it sound like he’s purposely aimed to decapitate your keeper!

Barrow the better side for the final 20 of the first half but that aside we were the better team and deserved the three points. Even despite having 10 men for 25. Onwards to Crewe.

Had a poor view of the red card incident so will judge based on the highlights (as to whether it was a red or not as opposed to the maliciousness).

I thought a draw would have been a fair result to be honest, both teams had some glorious chances, I wouldn't say one team was categorically better than the other, the difference was Tranmere took their one final chance when it came.

Luckily our key 5 or 6 players are staying fit while the others take turn to get injured around them.

I think with the right additions in the transfer window there’s no reason to why stockport can’t think they’d aim for the playoffs and even more.

I remember in the 2-1 home win over stockport back towards the start of the season, you had the quality and that sarcovic (spl) scored a cracking goal but we picked up the pace and turned it round and won, i don’t think that would happen now.

Now that the players are used to league football and not playing the hare & hounds every other weekend they’ve adapted well, you’ve really impressed how you’ve picked up form

not sure how we lost that against Tranmere 1-1 at the break then Tranmere go down to 10 men when sub Lewis was sent off for a horrendous challenge on our keeper Lillis. Hemmings then beats George Ray in the air to head past Lillis for the winner. Not sure what the max ban you can get for violent conduct - but Lewis deserves the maximum.

I thought Barrow were the better team first half, Rovers very sloppy after taking the early lead and barely troubled the keeper. Second half much improved and we spurned a few decent chances and Lillis made one good save and kept Morris' feeble toe-poke out. Thought we were going to pay for Lewis' stupidity; correctly a red card for high studs but hardly a career-ending challenge. Instead, great cross from Dacres-Cogley calmly finished with a Hemmings header to give Rovers all the points. Though think it was Waters who wellied the ball Doohan dropped over, with the goal gaping in the last minute of normal time.

Barrow punching above their weight, but credit to a decent manager in Wild for that. Whitfield, Stevens and Lillis probably the pick tonight. but George Ray as bad as Rovers fans remembered and Gordon throwing himself to the ground rather than trying to score, plus a suggestion of headbutting late on deserved to be on the losing side. Rovers striking options, already without Nevitt, will deplete further with the suspension of Lewis and talk of a fresh injury for Mumbongo need to address in the forthcoming window.

Aye we were putting square pegs in round holes back then and new additions were finding their feet. Even though we weren’t playing great at the start of the season we deserved quite a few more points than we got.

We’re much improved now but we miss too many chances so that could cost us against the better teams.

Our performance at your place was arguably our worst of the season.

That Lapslie fella changed the game completely for you.

Which was odd as i’d been suggesting ollie clarke should start as boateng was fucking wank against northampton.

I hate sounding like the stick in the mud after we’ve won away but if the manager stops fucking around with players and tactics and plays the best players in the best formation without always worrying about the opposition we’ve every chance.

I hate saying it but as it stands one of the biggest hurdles to mansfield getting promoted is clough himself.

Grow some balls! we can do this

Macklin is a marmite character I found.

He's a salesman who will do anything to make a quick buck, very charming face to face in front of punters.

However I found him to be extremely hard working, he would always reply to emails, very active on twitter and deals with any complaints and always show his face to take any complaints face to face. He worked tirelessly to engage with fans.

One thing he will likely do though is implement his mates shocking ticketing system. The one he implemented with us and Essex cricket club was truly one of the worst ticketing systems ever, it charged people twice, crashed and broke alot of the time. He'd always give it the spiel of "Its a world class tickting system and it will get better" - within weeks of him leaving, with our new CEO in place, the thing was binned off.

He had to leave us when he did, he did work tirelessly - but fans grew tired of some of the things he used to implement.

Your club wasn’t stolen, it got moved somewhere else. And you got your media pals to whip everyone into a frenzy of hate.

Bit like our friends down the A180 who it really upsets nobody takes notice of them bar YouTubers and Bloggers.

There’s always something to find funny about them, not with us for as long as we last.
For me and many others, our club was stolen. I'm bitter but not enough to gloat about the other club's failures.

They actually did within a minute and in target too. It didn't much trouble our keeper but drew ironic cheers from the home crowd.
They need to give up on their promoting from within and get a new manager and some new players sharpish if they want to avoid non league where they will get zero youth funding and have to close or severely cut back on academy costs.

The Tranmere one is a definite red card, but reading this thread earlier about maximum punishments for violent conduct I was expecting him to have headbutted him in the face and then dug a few punches in him while he was out cold on the floor followed by a body slam to finish off. He was going for the ball, unfortunately he connected with the barrow keeper instead. A clear red card, nothing more. Hardly the violent criminal act of attempted murder that chipmunk is making it out to be.

Obviously my post earlier was generic criticism of our current tactics, but unbelievably I've seen folk calling for the managers head despite us being in the best position going into a New Year for over 50 years. We literally need another two wins to be safe which is all that matters given where we are as a club with respect to 90% of everyone else in this division. The same people will tell you Sean Dyche is available with a straight face.

What’s happened to that watertight defence from early in the season?

Salford usually struggle to score four goals in a month.
Those Fish Fondlers were excellent when they came to EP, particularly in that first half. Hard to believe they've been so awful since

Yeah it was crackers, we took Shelton from CB to CM and went to a back four when Mansfield pushed an extra lump upfront, no one could understand it? Two goals in 15 minutes and we're out of it, Curle chucked it tonight.

For his own sake, I hope Tumilty is first out the building in January, this kid hasn't got what it takes, he's panic stations every time he gets the ball, first instinct is to welly boot it the way he's facing. Umerah had an absolute stinker, spent more time on his arse and Sylla in the second half may as well of stood next to me in Town End.

Only positive is that every other fucker lost and defeat against these won't determine whether we go down, just have to beat Harrogate now.
It was all a bit flat too flat for me, offered very little threat and all over the place tactics second half. Scratching my head at the end there, sorry Keith but it's on you.

Shouldn't have lost that, Mansfield weren't good but had the extra gear that separates the top half from the rest. Now Sterry is crocked again, big blow. Yesterday really showed the fragility of the squad and the horrendous recruitment. Missilou at left back was bonkers, Shelton I didn't think was too bad at CB but then he should never have to play there. We fell apart once he shifted to CM

Tumility is a useless defender but I quite like him going forward and never hides. I'd keep him as a bench option but he's not good enough overall to start. He will be in against Harrogate though. Paterson, Murray, Niang, Hastie first out the door for me. Been said before but January is vital. Need 4 or 5 in.

Still think he’s going for the ball watching it back. Just one of those 50/50s where both think they can win it. If Lewis had nicked the ball past the keeper and then got flattened out it would have been a red card the other way

I think Murray will stay, we’re already down to the bare bones at CB, if we bring another two in I’d have him around as backup, probably been the most improved dog shite Scot out of the lot for me, agree on the rest.

It will be interesting to see how the top 3 react in coming games because some of the chasing pack are finally hitting some stable form and putting a little pressure on them.

Top 3 had quite a pressure less period recently with chasing sides very on and off form and giving them breathing room to not worry about ‘defending a point’ or ‘having to score’

Stockport do seem one to watch, for them older school L2 fans here they do remind me a lot of the 2000/2001 Blackpool side in regards to shocking start then mass turnaround.

It’s horrid how now you class 2000 as ‘old school’

Cobblers have a continuation of a horrible run of games. Those attempting to chase them down need to hit their straps.

We certainly do.

Orient, Salford, Stockport, Mansfield, Barrow next 5. Added to the 3 we’ve just had (Carlisle, Swindon, Mansfield) that’s as tough as it gets. Big chance we get hauled in by end of January.

We’ve been defensively minging which was our big selling point.

We did this at this exact point last year so I’m not particularly worried, more pissed off that we’ve chucked away the season by Xmas.

Everyone on our forum to a man says we were fortunate to win last night despite digging in and holding on.

Northampton should have scored a few, luckily our keeper is class.

We've been poor most of the season yet sit 5th. Will need to improve in the new year for sure but sit in a decent position. Think we could see a fair few ins and outs to shake the squad up a bit.

Mistakes ahoy. It's been shambolic. We've conceded eight in the last three matches and every single one has been an error or a freak occurrence of some degree. Matt Smith managed to fall over and miskick the ball from outside the box and get the ball in the back of the net for example. That's probably the only one of those eight goals that hasn't been lax defending though. Efete needs to come out the team but he's the only fit right back, all three CBs are way off the pace and constantly falling asleep and Crocombe's kicking has gifted two goals in those three games. We've gone from a team that doesn't score many but at least gets points because we only need a big chance or two in a game to a team that doesn't score many and has a woeful defence.

I thought we deserved to win last night. In the first half we were actually quite poor after taking an early lead, sitting too deep and allowing Barrow to control midfield. However, after half time we penned them in for long periods and their keeper had to make several good saves prior to our winner.

Hemmings is finally looking comfortable with Mumbongo as a strike partner, which is massive for us as he was always our most likely source of goals. Josh Cogley was superb. The best full back in the division and will be playing in The Championship soon.
