Good run from Oxford at the minute albeit playing lower third sides for the last few weeks (bar Fleetwood who're dropping like a stone). Similar sort of run to Donny in terms of wins and who against.

Sunderland's forum has gone in to meltdown;

Should be beating the likes of...................
Play like Stoke..................
Hate them more than Newcastle...........

You get the gist.

Indeed. It finally happened!!
You know you are up against it when you play 85 minutes with 10 men away from home. It was a valiant performance from Fleetwood to stay in the game, indeed in the last 10/15 minutes one would have thought it was the Yellows who were down to 10 men as the Cods took the game to the hosts to preserve a phenomenal record against them.
Fair play to Oxford and they will be relieved to get this albatross from around their necks. Karl Robinson has seen his team rise from the basement of league 1 to a challenging position so deserves all the credit for this
Unfortunately we are going in the wrong direction at the moment, hopefully we will get 2 of our our of senior players back soon
I watched the match on I Follow and have to say the reporting from the ' Oxford ' commentators was as impartial as one can get with plenty of credit given to Fleetwood. Were they ex Baliol ? ( oops is that Oxford or the other lot ! )

Should have got a draw against them on Tuesday, but for stupidity from our keeper in the last few seconds!

We’ve ridden our luck for the last couple of games. Though in fairness, our defensive play against Rochdale was virtually non-existent. It really should have been a much lower score all round!

My word we did just about everything possible to toss that game. The Fleetwood effect almost took over and we could have easily drawn that game. In reality, we should have taken our chances and put the game to bed much earlier.

Credit to Fleetwood, they managed the game relatively okay. Had they played the last 15 minutes after the first five, they’d have made it much more tricky.

On the subject of commentators, Stevie Kinniburgh is ex-Oxford from our Conference days and still a young man having retired early favouring a route into coaching (he’s also a former business partner of mine and a really good talker). He’s excellent and adds a great insight/dynamic to commentary.

Jerome, Nathan and Rosie have been doing the games for years now. Nick has been commentating back into the 80’s!

Having re-watched them all seven goals were very well taken, with only the last resulting directly from an error. Marking could have been a bit better for the two headers, I suppose, but both scorers are excellent in the air. As I'm charitable, I'll credit the forwards with good play as well as defences being iffy!

James Henry’s effort was arguably the only goal which didn’t come following a mistake/shoddy defending which is remarkable when you consider the game consisted of seven goals!

You could possibly make a case for Moore’s header, but really even that should have been challenged/pressured in the air better. It made for a hell of a game, mind. Watching ‘Dale must be incredibly entertaining!

Well that is how a football game should be played. Great game, real end to end stuff. Stanley dominated the first half and Argo the second. While both sides could have had a fair chance at a third goal, two each was a fair result. A really good advert for league 1, obvious respect between the managers and players.

The worst game Jephcott has played all season by a nautical mile, he was completely off the boil. But, and it is an obvious but, he scored. The sign of a good striker that they can play poorly, but still be on the scoresheet. Another few bob added to his transfer fee.

The game next Saturday will be interesting.

PS Having listened to both managers reaction, how nice it is to hear two respectful gaffers make honest and accurate assessments. No baloney, no myopic refs, no we was robbed. it was very refreshing. there are a few managers in this league who should take note.

Unless you beat Coleman in particular and then he starts his sly digs. Done it for years when we've come up against him. I have to say Appleton is spot on with his interviews.

I wouldn’t know, we tend not to beat Stanley!

Our manager is always polite and courteous.

He just needs to come out of his shell a bit.
