I don't understand how you can simply stop supporting your team. I know the owner changed a lot there which rightfully angered the fans, but from my experience I couldn't just stop supporting Wolves if something similar happened. Each to their own of course.

That's what I would have said five years ago.

I haven't paid to go to a Southend home game since the beginning of the 2006/07 season. I kept up away games, a couple of seasons going to every one, but haven't been to any Southend games since December 2011 and I won't be going back until the current owner leaves. To be honest I haven't missed it, I just bumble along at local non-league every now and then.

That's fair enough, everybody has their own reasons for going/not going. I have some friends who support Coventry who refuse to watch them as long as SISU are still part of the club.

On a side note, nice to see another Lions fan.

2010/11 was our first year back in League Two after the ridiculous 'no away wins' League One season. Finished 8th, then 8th again, then 1st.

First season back in League One was tricky but we survived, then had a good second half to the season to finish mid-table last time out. Now we're top of the league, got 4 or 5 excellent young players, a highly rated young manager, no debt and a solid financial footing.

It's going pretty well now, but we were shite for a while!

09/10 was a horrible season. We got 17/21 points against the top 7 at home, and yet we couldn't beat the Dog and Duck away.
The culmination being the no show at Wycombe, though the game at Bristol Rovers was dire as well.

Gradual improvement since then though

It was a simple and visceral response to an event. I think if Cardiff City fans had stood against it then I may not have cut my ties. Instead there were Cardiff City fans who threatened violence against anyone protesting against the change to red.

As it was the club were very unhelpful in allowing me to cancel my season ticket (dozens of e-mails and phone-calls). They were very rude in their e-mails to me telling me there were plenty of other fans who were willing to take my place - the ground is now half full... The football club still haven't apologised for changing colour. They gloss over it.

When you don't particularly like a lot of the fanbase and the club act like pricks why would you continue to follow them? Not really sure why anyone would continue to go and be treated like a mug.

Wonder what situation will tempt the 2 Cardiff fans to return.....is it just owner change now?

I may go back if the club went bust and started again at the bottom of the football pyramid as a fan-owned club. Even then it's unlikely as I live away from the city.

That's not going to happen though. If the club went bust I suspect that there wouldn't be enough fan interest to set up a new one. Cardiff City supporters are totally sold on the "sugar-daddy model" of funding a football club. Strange considering what's happening just a few miles west down the M4.

Very happy, I never liked getting on a packed train to go watch Chelsea up until I was 8.

This is much better.
That is child abuse, pure and simple.
However, I think you're still suffering from some of PTSD by going on to support the Franchise.

Says the man whose club no longer plays in Barnet but in Harrow. According to franchise naming policies, shouldn't you be the Harrow Bees? :bg1: (If you'd moved to Wanstead you could have been the Wanna Bees)

No, not really.
Grimsby play in Cleethorpes, not in Grimsby. Bolton Wanderers don't play in Bolton. There are many examples of a club moving just outside their home town but still based in or next to the area where most of their supports come from. We're in that category and also it was made very clear to us that Barnet Council had no interest in ensuring we had a long-term future in the borough.
The case of MK Dons is completely different. If you move a club 70 miles you're sticking two fingers up at the fans and telling them that their support is no longer needed. The facts were that Koppel and the Norwegians never looked for a site in or near Merton for Wimbledon whereas we have been trying for 15 years in Barnet.

If you told me 5 years ago that Dave Edwards would be one of the Wolves players I admire the most, I would have killed myself.

If someone who takes a joke way too literally moves 15 miles away, are they still a moron ;)?

Cardiff attendance was as low as 13,000 the other day. I didn't realise it had got so bad. I don't think the club will attract many fans without being a Premier League club in the future.

Undoubtedly, doesn't feel like long ago when we had a points deduction in League 2 and now we've stayed up in the Championship.
