Interesting read.

Feels about right for Bradford, though I would say that we have chronically underachieved since the turn of the century (aside from 2012/13 to 2015/16).

Below Stevenage, lol.

We'll probably stay there for a while too.

Third biggest underachievers, at least we're not the worst

You overachieved getting to the 2nd tier. Back in your box please.
Yeah, obviously? We're traditionally a L2 team. I don't get what point you're making

Well I saw them in the second tier when they finished 4th. I can tell you they were a bloody good team.

A handy little analysis and guide. So this shows how good or bad and where you rank over the past 50 years. Then compares it to 2023/24 to see how much better or worse you are currently doing.

I like it. Alongside the current league tables its a great guide and barometer as to each clubs true position in the footballing history books. Aka just how shit you really have been over the past 50 years. This is a debate ender and I suspect very useful.

55th in English football for the world's oldest professional club. I'll take that especially as I've witnessed the majority of them.

How does your club stack up over the past half century?

Exactly where I'd put us. Borderline of League One and League Two. I wouldn't class us as a League One regular like Bristol Rovers, Plymouth or Blackpool but also not League Two regulars like Mansfield, Rochdale and Exeter too. Playing in the Championship for a decent spell and floating between the leagues over the last 35 years means we're absolutely spot on where we are.

Solidly midtable in the Underachieving Premier League.

Interesting to note that Mansfield are overachieving by failing to get out of L2 every season.

If I speak I am in very big trouble...

Teams removed from Ultimate League

  • Wimbledon (pre-2004/05)

Edit: (Looks like they can't make up their mind the fence sitters)
In total, 91 of the 97 teams in the rankings have retained Football League status in the top four tiers for 50 consecutive seasons, only MK Dons, Stevenage, Newport County AFC (post-1989/90), AFC Wimbledon, Accrington Stanley (post-1968/69) and Fleetwood fall outside of this category.
