At least Braintree have accepted their true status, Eastleigh are terrible and Tranmere have Brabin in charge. Still a good chance!

Soon as that team selection came through I knew we were in trouble tonight.

Ridiculous that it's come to this, a lot of reliance on the home game against Welling in a week or so. Lincoln next up on Saturday.

Any team who cant beat Welling and Guiseley at home doesnt deserve a play-off spot. no disrespect to Guiseley. Think Wrexham will take 5th.

Braintree were fairly terrible (or are we good now???). I think I've seen every team in this league now - some home, some away - and only Cheltenham, Wrexham and Grimsby were any good.
I rarely give the refs stick, but tonight was bizarre - not helped by the fact that Braintree take falling over and yelping to a new level.
Some of our players are absolutely on fire at the moment despite the fact we've not had anything to play for in weeks. Some new contracts for players that were on their way at the end of the season.

Local reporter just tweeted Burr hasn't let the players out of the dressing room yet, nearly 40 minutes after the final whistle, at Torquay away in midweek.

Braintree were not that bad - we just made them look bad. that was one of our best performances of the season at home. Cook was immense tonight, but everyone played well. Alex Ray Harvey and Parry ran midfield. Walker tapped in the first after the Braintree keeper failed to hold a cross. Cook smacked in the 2nd in off the right hand post after being far too strong for the Braintree defence. If we had this team and confidence at the start of the season we would have pissed this league.... :err:
that's 1 down 2 to go Mr Dover fan :gr:
I'm glad Halifax proved me wrong in their game - but Alty and Chester...:ffs:

That's been our season though. Beat FGR and Cheltenham away, lose to Welling et al at home. Utter madness.

Wrexham couldn't beat Guiseley at home either, while we couldn't even scrape a point off Welling. This league is still highly unpredictable, though if Rovers don't make the play-offs (and I'm not hopeful) I'd prefer a Braintree revival.

After such a brilliant entertaining game, to lose it in the 88th minute to a shanked cross is gutting. Probably our best attacking performance of the season. Thought Bogle coming on for Grimsby at half time changed the game but think we deserved something out of it. We may have lost but it was a great game to watch - just a shame there was only 1100 home fans there to witness it!

Their defence (+ keeper) was shaky all night, midfield never got a look in and forwards barely troubled our goal at all - they were very poor.
But yeah, I agree that the way we played, few teams would have walked away with the points.

Your going down Steve, sorry but It appears Connor Hughes has decided he doesn't want to play in Conference North next year. His conduct in kicking the ball into the Boringwood net with 3 seconds to play was absolutely disgraceful. A year's planning and preparation is in danger of being flushed down the drain by this irresponsible ego maniac. I am bloody fuming quite frankly. :dis:

Fucking wow.

0–15m: they take the game to us. Hard to get started.
15–55m: all Town, just a matter of how many we can score (ie. two).
55–85m: heads dropped, all hush and anxiety. The equaliser comes and we're mortally wounded.
85–93m: we look more likely to win than at 2–1, but the momentum's g—OH CONNOR HUGHES WTF YOU GORGEOUS MAN

Men of the match were Josh MacDonald for us, our ever-improving winger, and Clovis Kamdjo's second half performance for them. Credit to him for not starting on everyone/-thing in sight after losing, this time.

Feels like we'd blown our entire hopes of staying up after throwing away the lead, but after the winner it feels like we've sunk Morning Wood for good. In reality it's just another match though, and we've six more games to add to those 43 points. Nach dem Spiel ist vor dem Spiel.

Forgot we even played last night. Delighted to hear that Bogle pretty much ran the show. The lad needs a good run coming into the playoffs.

Marcus Holness was sent off after the final whistle last night - not sure what he did but something to do with Liam Bellamy who had a gash on his shin apparently.

Apparently 2 Mariners fans left at half time!!

Probably the same 2 who left the recent England game when Germany scored their 2nd. :ffs:

The stewards at Aldershot a little more lenient that at Cheltenham then?

Honestly just shows how poor we were against Aldershot doesnt it- no goals in 270 mins at home now

Fantastic to see Nicholson is getting you lot out of it, would have been shocking if you and Kiddy had gone.

Thanks in no small part to a certain Mr. Blissett, glad he's getting goals. Although that's no coincidence seeing as he's getting game time.

If we had a halfway competant goalkeeper we'd have have comfortably won that 3-1 last night. Instead we have Flapper Smith who just about handed the game to Grimsby with three absolute howlers. If the man plays again this year, then I know he is related to Barry Smith somehow.

It could still happen, but the situation has really improved over the last few weeks. We just need to keep it going now. Next tuesday is huge, a win from that and I think we're going to be okay.

Indeed, Bliss has been a revelation to be honest.

I'm glad Blissett is finding his feet but this is definitely his level I think

He wasn't good enough for us, but that doesn't mean he couldn't play in a hoofball team in league two of which there are many.

According to our forum, Marcus Holness was sent off last night for serious foul play, decision communicated via the captain after the game! 3 game ban, like it really matters anyway.
