Without a doubt the bubble will burst. But for now, i'm absolutely loving this!

National league (before the takeover) was a graveyard for ex league clubs that are fucked over for one reason or another. We were included in that brakcet, but we have been asset stripped and had vultures circling round the club for any chance they get to get something out the club. Due to this, we, the fans, took over the club but that meant we couldn't have any bank loans but then seeing clubs like Newport, Harrogate, Salford et al beating us to transfers for players.

Since the takeover, we have had this almighty target on our back. Home grounds sell out every time, sometimes its their highest attendance of the season or even ever. National league minnows Maidenhead were a bogey side for us and we drew 2-2 and they celebrated like they won the league. Quality is not much difference to the bottom of league 2 compared to the top of the national league.

My mate is a Oxford fan and he reckons it was a grear craic taking more fans than the majority of home teams had.

It was shite in L2 and not much better in L1 apart from at least there was some bigger clubs in there. Its a hard league to get out of Charlton and Bolton will vouch for that. You'd expect Brum to go up and Huddersfield too but you never know.

We;ve got American owners but they don't seem to want to throw money at it like your Yankees do. Good luck and hopefully you'll make it into the Championship. I can't remember the last time Pompey played Wrexham. Thats if we stay up.

I agree, some of the local ones to us you'd near enough have more away fans than home, but the further away trips, there'd be around 200 or so hardcore fans going.

Our owners have not just helped the club, but the whole town is thriving all because of the football club. It's been absolutely incredible!

I agree with PP. It's doable because the station is not that far away, but you've got no margin for any sort of delay. Unless you want to leave a little early id go for the next one.

Plus there's always police manning the entrances to it so might be a pain to get in there until our fans have walked past the station which takes an age.

I'd go to a pub for a pint then walk back up once the place is clear.

I think it was taken well as 3-0 was almost expected beforehand. Once you scored early we weren't ever going to get back into it. We've simply not got the quality or finance to compete with the bigger budgets and teams in the league, sad as it may be. The hope is for 20th this season. Approaching transfer deadline Wrexham sign Rathbone and Faal for sizeable fees, we sign 2 league 2 backups, one on a free and the other on loan. It just shows where our finances are currently.

Frustratingly Wrexham have beaten us twice in the last 12 months and haven't been particularly impressive in either of the games.

Not judging by the 1522 page thread they have on their OTIB forum (even their forum name is a jibe about us)
Bristol to Cardiff is still less distance than Exeter to Plymouth! (so is Bristol to Cheltenham and FGR and we dont give a shit about either of them).
City fans get under the skin more when I see them almost every day at work or in pubs/clubs. I cant imagine you see that many Plymouth fans other than at the games?
I guess its just hard for us to imagine a rivalry with a team 40+ miles away when we've always had one on our doorstep.

The media stills call Bristol (either) v Plymouth as a West Country Derby. Derby? ...only a mere 120 miles away.
Still too many Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool and Man City shirts being worn around Bristol, much rather see Sheff Weds, Plymouth or Watford!.

I know what you mean. I know a few people who slagged the club off before the takeover but they are now the towns most loyalist of supporters since 2020.

It was certainly the chairman's call to ring Hurst back. He's largely escaped criticism as there are growing calls against the Chairman, and he DOF wasn't a popular appointment after the Cotterill going.

There are a few murmurs against him now, given the team selection on Saturday and how poor our defence have been with Nsiala clearly being a Hurst signing. Admittedly he wouldn't be playing if both Feeney's had been fit all season.

We experienced that, our fans locked out of away grounds etc. Thankfully it was only season (piece of piss lads what were you doing for so long?! haha) . Losing to Braintree away was pretty sobering though!!

300 points and 300+ goals and we've never played well under Parky in 3 seasons. He can't keep getting away with it.

We were similar numbers in three seasons under Cowley, I think it was 126 goals in his first season. Slight difference was that we had to improve the squad every summer rather than keep going with what we had.

It's great fun though isn't it when you're such a well coached and well oiled machine of a side - you turn up to games expecting to win regardless of who you're playing. The nature of lower league football means that you don't generally get to experience that as long as three seasons, if at all.

I actually work with two Argyle fans and a Torquay fan. Distances down here mean a bit less, no one bats an eyelid driving 100 miles as we often do
I'm not suggesting ours is a bitter rivalry, but to ignore other ones such as Cardiff v Swansea or Pompey v Saints is ridiculous
