Ladies and gentleman of the fine internet community of 1FF.
When the next UK general election comes around I fully intend to launch a campaign for election to parliament as the right honourable member for Barnsley central. My main aim is to usurp the pretender Dan Jarvis and put an end to the deplorable attempt to 're-imagine' my wonderful and historic town centre.
In the past couple of hours I have put a lot of thought into this (while watching a horror film recommended by ZFG). I am not a wealthy man, but I reckon I can afford the £500 registration fee and have enough spare time on my hands to really make a go of it.
This is not a shameful attempt to get on telly at 3am on election night (though that would obviously be awesome). This is a genuine awakening and I fully intend to make my presence known to the maggots that used to be the Labour party in my constituency.
The reason for this thread is that I do not want to go it alone. I do not want the death knell of 'independent' at the side of my name on the ballot. I want YOU!!.
I welcome anyone who feels the same about their town or city. Labour or Tory, Green or Lib Dem. Abandon your allegiance to your self-serving chosen party and join me (unless you're UKIP, in which case just fuck off and die).
