Good riddance that Chiles and Townsend are gone! Don't know that Pougach guy though as never listened to 5 Live for a match commentary. James Richardson should have been the man though to come in; he's a lege!

I was reminiscing about this earlier in the week. James Richardson sitting outside a café, reading the weekly newspaper, before goals from the then best league in the world. With a slice of cake, of course. Better times.

Football coverage is (at least) twice as enjoyable by his mere presence. Sadly, he's probably a bit too risqué to be given a job presenting English international football in prime-time.

Good shout! I think he may be in on the new Football League show on Channel 5. He already does the World Strongest man on there.

Yeah I always watch the strongest man anyway, and the presence of James in it for the last couple of years really adds to it. He was superb on football Italia and I listen to his podcast regularly on the Guardian webby.

Lineker is the best in the business for me. He is a great presenter and he clearly knows loads more about the game than any pundit he has next to him.

Lineker on the telly just comes across as so boring on MOTD anyway, not really adding anything except very weak insipid jokes. When the BBC are covering a game live he is a bit better however so perhaps he would be more suited to switching to another network to cover more live games; and on Twitter, he doesn't mix his words about football issues, I'll give him that.

Richardson is also a good host on BT Sports' European Football Show. Lineker is perfect for Match Of The Day

Cannavaro is the only person related to ITV Sport that I actually like.

Agree.Even with his broken English he still spoke more sense than anybody else on there.

Hope James Richardson has improved if you think he's the one doing the Channel 5 program. He used to do Late Kick Off South and was dreadful.
