That would have to be approved by 75% of the trust membership and I can't see that happening. Our name stands for what we've achieved since the MK decision.

Any reason why the Don's never bothered asking it to be put back to just Wimbledon?

...because it would be wrong to change the name of the club which has a long history dating back to 2002 and would probably cause a boycott and the formation of AFC AFC Wimbledon.

It's not up for discussion in Merton Councils latest planning meeting. I imagine it will be start of the season territory for it. I'd like to think if we get approval in September it would be ready for pre-season of 2017-18.

Unlikely to be July with what needs to be done plus a three week consultation period before the committee meeting.

I'd rather a delay knowing that we've got it right. We've been exiled since 1991, a few extra months wait is small beer.

It's getting a tiny bit frustrating though. We've had so many consultations I just want to get the damn thing built!

Aye, but with the number of nimbys out to scupper our plans, we have to get it water-tight.

Oh well, good luck with it. I'm not surprised you have Nimbys though. Looking at the plans it's the opposite of modern practice of building grounds away from housing on industrial estates.

True but there is a stadium/shithole there already.

We've not been helped with the nature of our plans. Very easy for people to say 20,000 drunkards because that's our final capacity when in reality we are building 11,000 tops intially

Makes no difference its on a site which holds a current stadium and is designated for sporting development.

...and of that 11,000, it will probably hold, what, 6,000-7,000 most weeks (presuming you remain in League Two)?

I would imagine we would see that in league 1 and 2. I like the idea of us following Rotherhams growth minus Steve Evans.

Who actually owns Plough lane now. Have Sainsburys sold it back to Wimbledon?

Now I am confused. If the old stadium is still there and it's designated for sports use only, how come there are housing on the old site.

If it's overly complicated, just say so and I'll google it :bg:

The old site is housing. The new site is currently Wimbledon Greyhound stadium.

This is taking its sweet time. Any idea what your plan is with our home now? The selling to Chelsea for their reserves/youths etc hysteria seemed to die quicker then it was typed up.

As far as I'm concerned Chelsea can go fuck themselves. I'd rather we just gave the ground back to Kingstonians, for free.
It's always been K's ground to me.

I appreciate the sentiment... but please... less of the plural, there is only one Kingstonian!

(Edited to add)

Just an after thought though... don't you need to sell KM to someone to offset the cost of your new ground?

I'd like to think that we don't. But we probably do.
I'll not vote for any sale that doesn't safeguard the future of your club.

The sale of km to Chelsea is not gone and is big part of the plan still.
