As I have said earlier this week, we have 46 games next season in League 1, not just 2 against a 'club from up the road." yes the media love this type of angle, as it sells papers. Persomnally my only hope is that neither the 2nd or 3rd game in of the 2017/18 season is against "them" as I will be at those games, but like Meadow will not go if it is at their place, I only get to go to 2 matches every 3 years as I am based 12,000's mile away.So to miss out on ne of those would be dissaponting, but if that happens, I will go and watch Daggenham. My first hope/ desire is that we stay in L1 untill we get back to Plough lane. To focus on one club will hurt us.

It may be that neither club can officially lay claim to the history or honours but certainly the heart and soul of everything Wimbledon FC lives on at AFC and nowhere else.

I doubt any decent football supporter will ever think any different.

This is how I see it. Two separate clubs, one who took a league place from the previous club, and another who took the fans, ethos of the club and the heroes previously involved with Wimbledon FC.

Well, this thread has been much tamer than expected, only BCS has made any real effort, maybe we have to wait till they buy Lyle Taylor from us to really get going. I liked Sk8mk's response though, and I think most of us have got into football by going to games with our dads, so it's hard to argue with that one. Lucky T's post (no.43) sums it up for me.
I agree with the comments about our guestbook, it hurts my brain to look at it, but it's worth tag searching the good posters (Repd, Slow Train among others, and...Digy). Maybe now that we have 20,000 fans(!) we can get a proper one.
Honestly, I haven't looked forward to a season this much since the '96/97 season, the expectation of playing big teams (and Bury) all season is special, I can't wait for it to start.

Just drop the Dons bit and any claim on Wimbledons history. Your club's beginnings might then be eventually, partially forgotten if not forgiven.
