We are at Creepy. Playing better football since Ollie arrived, didn't go to plan second half against Exeter last Saturday, but he and his new signings have had a bit more time to meet everyone and hopefully it comes together.

I believe our support will be a little bigger than it would have been pre Mr Holloway, he does have an infectious personality and it seems to have rubbed off onto some of our fans. One or two injury problems and a couple of loan players leaving has left us a bit short, but no different to every other team in this division. 1-1 or a cheeky away win please.

Home to Newport. No sign of the new players we desperately need, no chance of the proper manager we desperately need. We wont start playing until we go behind, so hopefully Newport will go ahead early. Got my booing voice ready.

Home to Walsall, the last team we beat... I presume everyone is playing teams they played just last month as that's usually how the fixtures work.

Since Branthwaite's injury/departure we've gone back to being unable to defend (though admittedly the teams who have put threes and fours past us have been freescoring generally). A few new signings may get their chances though as Chris Beech tries to sort us out. It looks like the players he's signed are with the starting line-up in mind so we may see first starts for Anderton and Kayode.

We're at home to Northampton and I can't wait to get back to Whaddon Road to watch a game as it seems like bloody ages since our last one.....oh wait.

Stevenage away, another sold out away end I believe.

They impressed me at home park not long ago so will be a tough match.

Would love to do the double over Westley and keep the run going.

Just been posted on our Official Site "Crawley is the nearest station and about a mile away from the ground. Note that Kings Cross is closed this weekend so you’ll have to travel via Sheffield to get there if travelling from Grimsby. It’s a longer journey there and back with bus replacements from Doncaster back into Grimsby. "

Great news for travelling support.

Macc away. Tough game, they hardly ever lose at home and their pitch won't suit our style. Draw.

Hopefully Macc get themselves sorted out and Alkhadi finally sells up to someone decent, they deserve to stay up imo. They've performed miracles to be in with a shout even with a big points deduction.

You will have to wait longer as the Cobblers play Derby in the cup

You lot were very generous with the donated money before Christmas, if you'd like to be as generous on the pitch then that'd be great cheers.

We've been very generous on the pitch recently, gifting away some shocking goals and missing sitters at the other end. Only team we've managed to beat are Mansfield, who somehow managed to be even more 'generous'

If you defend well you'll get chances, especially at set pieces.

Or you could maybe try to support the team instead of booing?
Lord knows we need it and there are too many negative old farts around E10 as it is.
Don't really fancy us as newport have hit a bit of form, probably another draw.
(Seriously though, if we start with 1 up front again I'll boo along with you)

Scunthorpe away for us. Not sure what to expect as I still look at them on paper and they look half decent. We played them just after Christmas and they were very toothless.

Scunthorpe 1-2 Crewe (Novak, Anene, Powell) 3,309 (310 Crewe)

Colchester @ home.
Should be a good game. We’re unbeaten in 10, them unbeaten in 14. With Ajose coming into form at just the right time, we should hopefully get more than the “one Grecian goal” our Twitter bangs on about.

Why does Swindon get it's own thread? Exeter v Col Ewe is THE game of the day.
Not sure Ajose will start, I dont think Dickenson will either.
Another tough game but if we can deal with their set pieces I am hopeful we can nick it.

Scunny looked good last week at Valley Parade. They run rings around us in the second half, and we were fortunate to hang on for a draw really. I do believe though that they have been playing much better away.

Novak is suspended, he looks as likely scoring while suspended as he does while on the pitch though.

It was men against boys when we played Crewe last month, we've only won once since then but not looked that bad. If Van Veen is fit then that will massively boost our chances. We've been poor at home lately though, think we might be able to scrape a draw but a win will be hard to come by.

No problem for the die-hard fan. Leave Grimsby at 6:50am change at Newark, then Peterborough, bus replacement to Bedford, then East Croydon, get to Crawley at 12:48 in time for a few pre-match scoops.

Coming back leave Crawley at one minute to six. 4 trains via East Croydon, St.Pancras, Sheffield and Doncaster before a final bus replacement from Donny arriving back in Grimsby at five to one Sunday morning.

No problem. :bg:

Home to Colchester. Both teams haven't lost for ages. Expecting it to be tight and low scoring. Even with injuries we will still have a strong team out, which is refreshing, as for most of my time watching City over the decades we normally suffer injuries and scrabble about playing people out of position and so on. Could go either way, but think we will sneak it UTC

You know that this forum is dying when both Carlisle and Bradford fans can’t be arsed to start up individual match threads.

Were pretty much down to just me and HG now with Carver commenting on the odd occasions sometime throws a mobile phone over the prison wall and Alan partridge and big dave only popping up if there's something momentous to comment on.

Hard to know what to expect. We're struggling on the road at the moment, 1 win 6 and now we go to a ground we usually don't get results at. We might be a little tired from Tuesday, but then Scunny made the long trip to Pompey as well, so that will probably offset things.

Be interesting to see what sort of team Scunny name. I expect Van Veen to be fit, although he did jack all in the first game. Wonder if Colclough will be in the squad, he was for the Bradford game but then not on Tuesday. Easing him back or injured again?

I worry for us if we fall behind. We've struggled when trailing over the last couple of months, namely Northampton, Salford, Swindon, Port Vale etc. Only a last gasp scramble stopped us losing at Macc on Tuesday.

If we want to remain in the top 3, we need to win away against mid-table teams. I'd take a point, but this is a game I hope we can win.

Van Veen was ill at Crewe, hence why he was brought off at half time. He never should have played. Colclough never plays for us as Hurst says his attitude is not good enough, it's not really a huge problem as Eisa and Gilliead are our wingers and they are our best players apart for Van Veen.

Think I am right in saying Mansfield have won twice at home this season, beat Scunthorpe 2-0 when they were rock bottom and Oldham 6-1 and they had 9 men and were shite. So tomorrow should be fun. We did manage to scrape by Chorley in the FA Cup too but the last win at home in the league was early October :)

Only positive is we have been playing better, but I suspect we will get our usual performance (Start well, miss one or two golden chances the concede from a couple of set-pieces)

So how are you looking like squad wise for tomorrow?

Not sure really. We've been missing our starting keeper Jake Eastwood as he got recalled but we're hoping for him to come back. Our starting CB Rory McArdle has been out too, not clue if he's back for tomorrow. Our starting RB Jordan Clarke and our starting LB Kgosi Nthle are out as well, meaning CM Levi Sutton will play at RB and Junior Brown will play at LB (he's about as good at Kgosi so not a huge difference there). Our midfield we play is one of our strongest so not real injuries concerns there. If Van Veen is injured then we only have one fit striker in George Miller and he's scored 1 in his last 30. The bench has been made up of youngsters who aren't ready to play and I imagine it'll be the same tomorrow. It's not our strongest squad due to injuries but if Van Veen, Eisa and Gilliead are fit then that's our three best players available which is huge.

I'm glad Junior is playing. He got destroyed by Powell in the home game, Powell was just too big, strong and fast for him to handle, so I'd go with that game plan if I was Artell, feed Powell as much as possible.
