I think there is a lot of questions with Jones being a 1 year starter also there is playing for Bama it's a question how much is it Jones and how much is it the talent around him Smith, Waddle and Harris are all likely 1st rounders.

On the Pats if they are in on Fields it will be interesting to see how far up the draft they are willing to move and how much they will surrender think either Falcons or Lions will likely be the trade partner

I really would not want to see Julio on the Ravens don't ever see being that a good situation for a wide receiver at least as long as Roman is OC.

Yeah that's the concern how you evaluate that. Same as Tua last year when he had Jeudy and Ruggs for example. Lance himself though has had virtually a year out and is considered the rawest of the 5. Been interesting to watch the trajectory of Jones though, really up until the college playoffs he was maybe a late first rounder / early second round in terms of grade and is now in consideration for the #3 pick.

With Fields I would almost certainly rule out trading with the Falcons certainly not in advance of the draft. It would be more feasible someone like the Bears does something really daft to get up from #20 but without knowing for sure who even the Niners are drafting it would be crazy to do a deal like that and would go against BB's entire history on this kind of thing. Detroit at #7 I suspect would be the most likely. Gets us in front of Denver who I cannot for the life of me believe that Lock is their guy and the price would be more palatable. Fields it's been interesting to see his stock drop though. Was consensus #2 at one point and now without playing a snap in months seems to have randomly dropped.

Alabama in 2019 had one of the most stacked Offenses in recent years really from that Offense your likely going to end with 8 or 9 1st round picks after this draft

On draft trades yeah I am not expecting any until the pick is on the clock.

Looks like Aaron Rodgers timed his "I want out from Green Bay" demand well just before the draft. Doubt the Packers will entertain a trade at least not now as think his contract has ridiculous dead money attached but clear that one isn't ending well.

For tonight the first two picks are obvious so if the Jets and Jags don't submit their cards the second they are on the clock I say they should forfeit the picks.

As for others I'm going with the following just to pick a few prominent ones out

  • Niners take Trey Lance
  • Falcons take Kyle Pitts
  • Bengals take Sewell
  • Fins take Chase
  • No defensive player until Surtain goes to Dallas at 10
  • Pats who the hell knows but my guess right now is trading up for Fields will be too rich so we might move a couple up and take Waddle then wait for Jimmy G to go from San Fran. He is the rare breed of receiver who will slot in to the Pats system perfectly.
  • Steelers will go RB with Travis Etienne (I actually have him over Najee Harris), He is the perfect fit for them and can run routes also so can get the Le'Veon Bell style threat again in their backfield.

Agree with most of those Falcons remain the biggest question mark for me I would not be surprised if the the Falcons trade out to one of the QB needy teams maybe someone like the Broncos.

The Defensive side of the draft is really interesting since the modern era the lowest pick for the 1st defensive player is 7th in 99.

On other Defensive prospects I am interested to see how far Farley and Phillips slide if they reach mid 20's would like to see us trade up for one.

I think with Farley that about his back surgery whether fair or not is going to be a red flag and more than see that as a possibility. Looking in that lower part of the draft range the ones I really love are Zaven Collins, he is a potential gamechanger at LB and also Kadarius Toney who alongside Pitts will be the reason Trask goes early on day two.

The one area this draft looks really weak is the DT position. Barmore realistically is the only one who will go tonight and to be honest I don't think he is going to set the world on fire in the pros.

Just to add with the first defensive player to Dallas. That is absolutely what they should do but I'm also not ruling out Jerry being Jerry and doing something like adding another receiver or giving up his next three drafts to take Pitts at #4. It's crazy and nonsensical which is why he could end up doing it.

Yeah It's not a great draft for Interior D line It's why I think it could push Barmore stock slightly up given the lack of talent in the later rounds

Linebacker in the second half of the 1st will be interesting I would add Koramoah (Notre Dame) kind of a hybrid Linebacker/ Safety it will be interesting to see which team takes him and how they utilize him.

The Jets are doing the same right now as well. As above they should be made to forfeit for this.

All just feels like the phony war right now. Gone are the days of the Jets getting really funky with their draft picks.

Yeah no need for it especially as both picks have been obvious for months they should of made the picks in minutes of going on the clock as neither had intention of trading the pick now they are in it feels the draft really begins.

Zach Wilson "no team I'd rather play for" and "we're going to the Super Bowl". I can only guess his wonderlic score wasn't one for the ages. I feel for him though, that NY media can be brutal the first bump in the road he will come against.

Jets are so far away from a Superbowl it isn't even funny both Offensively and Defensively put money on the Jets breaking there new toy like they did with Darnold.

Trey Lance I though that fitted Mac Jones for me was far to similar to Jimmy G and it was obvious shanahan wanted a change from that

I can only guess with taking Trey Lance that will mean they keep Jimmy G on the roster for next season. He is not NFL ready yet albeit has the highest ceiling. We'll see how it plays out as he has hardly had the greatest of competition before and in that division some of those Defense's are brutal.

I suspect we might be seeing Mac Jones falling a fair bit here.

I just think when you have a chance to take probably the best player in this draft you just go ahead and do it. Add in that they will probably be trading Julio after June 1st just go ahead and make that pick for me.

Bengals should take Sewell, I know Chase will be the sexy pick but it's no good having him if Burrow is just running for his life constantly.

Oh boy, Joe Burrow may be happy now, I'm not so sure he'll be happy when he's facing the sky week 1.

Jaylen Waddle to the Fins. Love the player, he is going to be a problem for the other AFCE defenses.

Detroit on the clock now, they have to go Sewell surely.

Carolina is going to be fascinating here. I genuinely don't know how they are going to go here. If the QB's get through them and Denver I think the Pats could stay put at 15.

Great pick Detroit, was hoping he might have dropped a couple more so I could start screaming at us to make a trade.

Next 2 picks very interesting now.

Jaycee Horn bit out of left field that one thought Surtain would be the 1st Corner off the board.

Next 2 picks very interesting now.

Reckon Darrisaw will be there for the Vikes. That would be a pretty sweet pick too.

Horn over Surtain is an interesting one. First defensive player off the board.

Some lucky team is going to get a steal with Micah Parsons falling to them. If Fields goes to Denver that is what I do if the opportunity presents itself.

We're definitely trading down as I can't see QBs going before us now, someone (Washington) will jump in front of NE and we will get a 2nd round pick, not against that at all.

Cowboys will be pissed at that pick by Denver!

Love to see what sort of premium the Eagles have paid for that as surely there'd have to be extra to do it within the division. Cowboys will take Parsons at 12 I reckon now.
