I'm expecting a heavy beating tonight, so not really.

It's well known how gash our secondary is, I like our defensive line (hoping McClendon, Heyward and Tuitt can generate some pressure tonight) and Lawrence Timmons is still a machine but Brady is going to have his way with this Steelers D. James Harrison starting at Linebacker proves that Jarvis Jones has been one almighty bust.

I cannot even begin to imagine what Michael Irvin must be/have been like on coke. The human equivalent of the Great Red Spot.

As soon as I was on the clock I should have taken him at #11, when I looked back at the auction once it was finished I regretted it even more so, think I said that in here too. Thankfully I didn't face him this week, though the combo of Brady/Edelman hasn't done me any favours...

Picking 12th I took Dez Bryant and 13th I took Gronk. Got to go elite if there are no RBs around. You took Megateon 11th no?

Yeah - all the RBs in my top tier were gone, wasn't gonna pick a QB in the 1st round, which left Gronk and the top bunch of wideouts.

As soon as I saw Megatron I jumped, then realised I coulda/shoulda waited for a top WR with the 14th given even if two had been picked by you with 12 and 13, there still would have been a choice of two from Jones/Megatron/Bryant/Beckham. Fair play though fella, I shall live and learn :)

Wasn't looking good for Big Ben fantasy wise until late on, ended up with a respectable score slightly better than his projection in the end though, so still on course to win my match-up.

Regards the game, enjoyed it obviously, but probably more to do with it being the season opener than a particularly good game, Pats never really looked like they weren't going to win.

Ended up going to bed and caught the condensed version on Game Pass the next day - which is awesome, can get through a game in 40mins and can see myself watching a lot more non-Packers games this season.

Steelers' kicker woes continue though. Agreed the Patriots didn't look like they were going to lose, thought their red-zone defense was superb (as it was last season) and combined with Scobee's kicking (2 missed 40yard FGs iirc) that made it easier as well.

I would have gone Megatron over Dez Bryant, but still would have gone Gronkowski.

The Steelers defence is absolutely shocking, they blew multiple coverages on the most dangerous touchdown threat in the NFL. I still think they will hammer most teams when Bell is back, but that was embarrassing. They didn't look prepared for the game, even though they've had all off-season to game plan for the Patriots.

Gronk should be good for 10-16 points in fantasy football every week and he does look healthier this year (looked a lot more fluid as a runner), but he didn't do anything particularly impressive yesterday. Two of his TD's were Pittsburgh's fault and most of his yards were on a blown coverage. Gronk is always worth a first round pick if he stays healthy, it's just a matter of how willing you are to take the risk. It's about the disparity between him and the next tight end, not how he compares to wide receivers, that article is pretty dumb.

Them two missed field goals woulda made the last touchdown interesting with two extra points attempted... on paper. But it doesn't work like that obvs. Never once thought the game was as close as the final score makes out. As Craigz and Jimz said above, Patriots never looked like losing, missed field goals or not. Depressingly familiar, really.

Derrick Henry is at it again, just gone in for his 2nd TD before HT.

Switching between the Notre Dame-Virgina and Georgia-Vanderbilt games atm. Vanderbilt having a mare but still in it, much better game in Virginia.

We were shocking in the first quarter with only 1 first down the entire quarter, but have looked good on offense since. UVA > Texas Carel? ;)

Ugh, missed FG though. College kickers man, college kickers.

No surprises in Ann Arbor as Jim Harbaugh blew a gasket over nothing. Pleasant surprise that Michigan actually won a game, wooo!

Second hat-trick of the season for Henry in the Bama game.

EDIT: Also, hope Malik Zaire's injury isn't as bad as it looks.

ESPN reporting it as a broken ankle.

Fookin hell Virginny (AND YES, V, HERPES > TEXAS AT THE MOMENT, IN CASE YOU HADN'T NOTICED).

Jacksonville State with the pisser of the day.

Now to pray that the mighty Longhorns can at least squeak one out against Rice. Should be ok, right? :animatedf:

This Texas D is pretty bad. Nothing up front, secondary MIA, can't even get Rice off the field on 3rd down. I expected a step back, given the personnel lost, but not this much.

Bowl eligibility looks like a challenge right now. :-|

Seems like the Pats found a different way to 'bend the rules' (allegedly)

Tyrone Crawford is a talented young player with a chance to break out and become a proper difference maker. But why run out and give him such a hefty extension now? Scratching my head a bit on this one.
