Nice drive by Stafford to most likely win this for the Lions.

Bears miss would have covered, and now they'll probably lose to a TD. Sigh

Manning...

Cleveland doing everything they can to lose this game. Some things never change.

Then that happens from Manning.

I've got the Broncos on my bet, but I don't really care, I want the Browns to win this one.

I can only guess the Browns have figured there D is more likely to score than their O.

That's more the Detroit Lions Offense of old. Absolute bomb from Stafford to Megatron.

Thank fuck for that - seems Lombardi might have finally realised tossing it up to Megatron is in the playbook.

Edit: Also some karma for that bullshit technicality in Chicago all those years ago, very pleasing it was against the Bears, unfortunate it wasn't Calvin who made the play.

The Panthers and Seahawks don't seem to like each other. Any reason why?

Don't really know, they played each other hard in the playoffs last season and both of them play a similar style read O with some ground and pound.

Not sure what all the fuss was about with the Tate TD... caught the ball, two steps, catch complete... then that's it right? I suppose there has to be a defined # of steps, and even if it was upped to three there woul still be a case where this would arise again. It's the ball-bobbling ones (like Bryant last season) that confuse me more.

Which position should we strengthen with our number one draft pick?

It's not a complete catch though if there's contact before they make those two steps and a football move, so they have to maintain possession until practice on Wednesday morning.

The VP of officials did a video which they showed on Red Zone. Basically they classed him as a runner going in to the end zone.

Indeed, which makes the Johnson catch in Chicago back in '09 was it?, still make me scratch my head and pissed off, he caught it, took two steps feet down and then put a knee down, no bobbling of the ball, nothing, until he lets go of it after his knee hits - that is a catch, a TD. I am so glad Tate's was against the Bears and has everyone talking, and the final score was close enough to make it matter, I might finally be able to forget about Megatron's effort!

He didn't have full control of the ball surely
doesn't matter - as a runner all he needs to do is break the goal line, as soon as the ball went over the white line the play was over.

Course it matters, if he never has control of the ball then it can't possibly be a TD or even a catch.

If a RB (or eligible runner) is bobbling the ball all over the place but breaks the goal line it is a TD. They could be holding on to it with one finger, as long as it breaks that line it's good.
Remember he was called a runner, not a receiver - this is where all the confusion comes in.

It's part of the problem with the catching/receiving rules when a thrown ball has to be under so much more control for so much longer, makes everything utterly confusing.

That was nice from Seattle - although the defender needs to watch Grimes, if he actually jumped higher than 6 inches that's a INT all day long.

I think that's right not to overturn that call. I think Allen may well have crossed but nothing conclusive.

Glad to see San Diego going for it on fourth rather than take the field goal which they looked like they would originally. Not going to beat Green Bay with Field Goals from the half-yard line.

Flacco!!! I think that is one of the worst (or maybe even best thinking about it) plays I've seen this year.

Aye superb from them.

Not sure I'd have bothered to run that kick off return there, just take the knee.

Rivers got lucky there, nearly fucked it up after a great play on 2nd down.

What the fuck are Baltimore doing?? Appalling situational awareness, no hustle to the line at all.

Bag of nerves right now. Rivers is torching us, the pass rush which has been excellent before today hasn't got near him anywhere near enough... Lacy not fit, WRs taking a beating again, O-line pressured but somehow we're still ahead.
