Not sure this is the historic, record-breaking night Peyton Manning had in mind.......
too fucking right, he's on -6.60 in my fantasy team!!!
the only upside is that in a league where I am deep in the playoff hunt he is my oppositions QB and they have even more points deducted for INTs so he is -10!!

Peyton seriously needs to retire at the end of this year. Granted he never had a rocket of an arm but some of these passes of his going end over end now.

Edit - seriously Chandler you can't drop them ones ffs!

When all else fails go back to the TFB to Gronk down the seam routine. Still think we need at least another couple of scores if we are to win this.

Nah we still have to go to Denver and I think the Jets beat us on the road too. This is now about the time Eli goes into that zone against us traditionally. No confidence we will win this.

Pats will crush Denver, jets is a harder game, but will still win. This Giants game is THE stumbling block.

Fucking hell that was lucky from Brady there.

Some interesting clock management from the Giants there in the red zone.

Brady got away with that INT, bad choice of throw and not deep enough either. Still, they got the job done and that's all that matters.

The run D was epic, even better than last season when it was the best unit in the league, both teams played good D - both O gave up way to early and easy on the run.

If the Packers get anywhere near the Superbowl the rest of the NFL should be embarrassed, Vikings favourites for NFC North for me.
Fair play but Starks isn't exactly Lynch - he excels as a complimentary back, but he's no lead. A lot can change in a short space of time; teams deemed an "embarrassment" can easily be worthy and fair winners come February - a trip to Minnesota next week is perfectly placed given the two teams trajectories right now. Not to mention the season-ending visit of the Vikings @ Lambeau.

The only thing I can think of that's majorly changed since last season, bar the rookies that have done well (Randall looks to be a real playmaker), is the offensive playcalling. I've no idea if that's the issue - I wasn't one of the people calling for McCarthy to hand them over - or maybe it's a combination of factors; the o-line play has badly receded all season and the pass rush, which pre- Chargers was really good, but is now totally non-existent. Also doesn't bode well that Manning has been bad bar that one game against us... which doesn't say a lot either.

I thought both D's were superb, both O's bang average. Indeed a lot can change, and to be honest the Packers can win with the D - right now it'll have to pull the O through, which seems madness to say with Rodgers as QB.

and patriots - BELIEVE - the nemesis is downed, surely no stopping them - unless...... Superbowl 50 just happens to be take 3? 18-1 again?

This looks very serious for Iupati, hope he's ok.
Good game so far, what Wilson was doing to get the Cards a safety only he will know.

Well looks like will be having to do without our best receiver in Edelman now for the rest of the regular season (same injury as Dez had). If the Pats did pull off 16-0 it would be one of the all time great performances especially with a banged up O-Line as well. Just can't see it, needed to use up a hell of a lot of luck to pull off the win against a Giants team which isn't even all that great yesterday. Think it's a matter of time before it does catch up with us. Good news is we probably only need to beat Denver and a couple more wins to seal a bye in the playoffs which is more important really.

Were stories circulating though since denied by Payton that Rob Ryan had been fired by the Saints. To be honest it would hardly be a shock if they did. That D is one of the worst I can remember and in fact I can't think of many D's which he has been the coordinator of that have been particularly competent. Seems to get by on the name of the Ryan family rather than any results.

was that me you were playing in fantasy? Can't believe he didn't manage it - but then I just remembered this is primetime Bengals, they'll have to hope the playoffs and superbowl are not televised.

Good news for my fantasy team appears to be that just as Peyton has been declared dead Tony Romo will play next game for Dallas.
What do we make of Peyton's injury btw - is he done? will he manage a few more snaps as a goodbye, can't leave on that Kansas performance surely? I remember Marino retiring and like him whatever you think of Manning at least we can say we've seen one of the greats, good luck to him.

Rob Ryan has been sacked in NO. Seem to recall talk of a total clear out from top to bottom at the end of the season. Surprised they did it now, maybe the Lions have started something with in season coordinator firings.

Yeah that was me, you fell 2.5 points short I think, quite an achievement with my QB on -6.6

I fell asleep

Nice to wake up to a win though. We seem to be finally seeing the defence we were hoping for at the start of the season. More QB woes though, standard.

Disgracefully, we are still in with a shout of the post-season.

Hahahaha do one Bish.

Just kidding, we were generally awful on offense and the defence, whilst good, was bailed out by Eiffert dropping everything. Poor game but worth it for the victory. Indy is still in the driving seat for the division imo, I'd say the schedules are relatively even then the Colts have the home game vs the Texans left.

Peyton's surely done, can't see him wanting to be a backup next season to Osweiler/whoever else even in a mentor role. That last game (and last few games) will soon ebb away from casual fan memory and his legacy/overall career will shine through I'm sure. He probably wishes he could play against Green Bay every week...

I wonder about the Broncos. Great D, but not much running game to lean on nor a decent QB (thus far). They'll probably eke out enough wins to make the playoffs this season, but that's surely their window gone bar an Osweiler miracle and Anderson being the 2014 version. Not sure on how their cap looks going forward, it's built to win now but surely a lot of those contracts are back-loaded and will hurt them come the rebuild.

Firing of co-ordinators, I'm sure a large part is for the owners/GM to quell fan anger and show that they're active in addressing issues, even if the sacking is unfair or not the root cause. Keeping up appearances etc. Sacking Ryan makes a statement even if they might get worse without him.

I know we have a good fantasy going on at the moment. But I've joined one of these at work. Also no limit to how many players so some of the casual fellers can join in. Just a bit of fun for weekly bragging rights.

Question - Are there any lefty FG kickers in the NFL? Can't recall seeing any off top of my head.

Yeah, Janikowski is left footed for one. Not sure if there are any others at the mo.

Related fact: Evil genius Bill Belichick has always had left footed punters on the basis of some marginal gain cos the different spin on the ball confuddles the returner dealio.
