Right, final month(and a week of May) of the season to go.

So how will you get on over the final 6-8 games.

Port Vale H - Draw. They'll be on a high and our confidence will have taken a bit of a hit from losing. A point for both sides would be ok.

Mansfield A - Draw. Feeling surprisingly confident about this, given Mansfield's atrocious run of form under Flitcroft. Still, we are the sticky backed plaster that helps teams recover from poor form, so we'll probably lose.

Luton A - Lose. Feeling more confident about this one, given their wobbles. Not sure how the scenarios could work, but this might be the game that gets them promoted potentially. We'll lose, but hopefully we won't get battered like I feared me might a couple of months ago.

Morecambe H - Draw. Morecambe are a tough side and always seem to pull it together at the end of the season. Plus we have a dreadful record against them at Gresty Road, they always seem to shithouse out a result. Bank on Kevin Ellison to bag, but hopefully we can do better than draw.

Crawley A - Win. Think we can win this one, especially if something is riding on it for us. They've dropped off massively after an impressive December and January. Hopefully we can end our away form on a high with a win.

Cheltenham H - Win. They are safe in mid-table and are a dangerous but ridiculously inconsistent team. Hopefully there shouldn't be anything riding on this, but regardless, we should be able to win.

9 points, the fixtures we've got should yield some points. If we can't amass enough from these last 6, then we deserve to go down.

I'm actually pretty optimistic about how were going to do in the run in, but it's very important we beat Crewe next week. No disrespect but that's a home banker, and flitcroft will come under a lot of pressure if we don't. Also danny Rose will hopefully be back - we need him as we don't have any other decent forwards of note without him.

We probably need 5 wins to have a chance of getting into the playoffs, the next two against direct rivals will tell us whether we’ve got any realistic aspirations.

Morecambe and Newport are the ‘should-wins’ out of them lot, Port Vale will likely be safe before we play them, Luton are wobbling at present so there is some hope.

I’ll go for 10-11 points, leaving us 8th/9th and a few points from a playoff spot.

Win the first 5 and then we play out a draw with Chesterfield to ensure we both survive on 49 points.

Who am I kidding?

Need 4 wins minimum and the odds are very slim.

Carlisle still sniffing at the PO's and off the back of yesterday, a point wouldn't be the end of the world. Wycombe and Coventry the standouts, there.

Need to be hitting 10/12 points I think.

That'll be cos your wide pitch always suits our style of play very well (a reason as to why we have such a good record at Wembley). Unfortunately, the pitch at Gresty Road is as wide as it possibly can be, and it's not one of the widest at all...

52 points seems quite optimistic but very achievable. I believe one win for us and there's no way either of the bottom two are getting to 46 points, especially as the bottom four play each other in the last month of the season. I can see 23rd being on 43 or 44 points though so we just need to avoid a catastrophic loss of form to see us in the league for another year.

Still wouldn't surprise me if we found a way to cock it up so badly we end up scrapping for our lives on the final day though, but we really shouldn't and we've been a lot better second half of the season.

Six 4-0 wins and into the play offs on goal difference.

We’ll then play Luton who lose all their remaining games and smash them 4-0 in each leg before flunking it at Wembley.

We need 15 points from the remaining 7 games. I can see wins against
Creepiest away
Yeovil home
Grimsby home
Newport and Colchester away 1 draw and 1 defeat
Carlisle home draw
Last game of season Accrington on the beach at home 3 points!

Crewe (a) - Got a sneaky that we could win this, but i'll settle for a draw which will suit both teams
Crawley (h) - Back to back home wins
Lincoln (h) - another draw to add to our list of many
Mansfield (a) - Lose narrowly
Carlisle (h) - another draw as I think Carlisles play off hopes will be over by then
Cambridge (a) - Win on the last day to end a miserable season

that should leave us on 51 pts.

Just the 9 games in 34 days for us which is going to test our squad to the limit. Also playing 8 of the top 9, but with several of them wobbling of late hopefully we can nick a few points off them to keep the bottom two at a distance.

plus rearranged match away at Yeovil - win

Okay 5 forecasted wins in last seven matches but my forecasting skills are less than great on this site. But basically FGR require 3 wins [9 points] to almost guarantee EFL football next season.

Whatever happens is insignificant to a large degree, Hassall next season will still be our major shareholder, Smurf will still be running Vale and so on, as you were......

All I know is a win for Barnet at Stevenage and Forest Green and I'll end up with dog shit on my shoes at Grimsby.. ..a price I'm willing to pay!

I looked at the teams around us before the weekend, to see what their run-ins looked like, many of us have to play each other so much can change in the next couple of weeks. I had concentrated on the teams below us, for obvious reasons as we just need to finish above two of them to make the season a success...did anyone other than our most optimistic (deluded) fans think we would make a real challenge for promotion?

If I was a Grimsby fan I would be worried as their form is very poor, Chesterfield could pull themselves out of the mire with a couple of wins and they still have to play most of the teams around them...but that Yeovil run-in is horrific, I hadn't really considered them to be at risk, but now I think they might be.
