I think Ipswich look very very good

Then ??

Those Sheffield folk who only drink beers on a wednesday and Portsmouth

I diont think we will be top two .
It was a great day and my teenage son loved it, felt it would be a game he will remember for years.

To answer the question, it is still too early to say. However, six sides, of which Ipswich are one, have put their hands up as ahead of the rest. I suspect one or two of them may drop as the season progresses, and someone like a Charlton or Salop go on an amazing run. But I would not be at all surprised if at least four of those in the current top six are in that position in May.

Early in the season, but could be massive game to see how good either side really are. For 70 mins and having missed a load of chances to put the game to bed we were fairly comfortable and looking at 3 points v Plymouth, but to fair to them they are good at flipping a game on its head in a moment.. We beat Peterborough and got a decent draw up at Sheff wed. Ipswich seem to have smashed all the sides who are more than likely to finish outside the top 8. A win or a loss for either side won't win or lose promotion, but its a good barometer for both sides and managers. Obviously Harness and Chaplin are odds on to score v us. Hoping Rafferty is fit otherwise playing a LB at RB and a left footed CB at LB will just play into Burns hands. Still unbeaten and level with Ipswich having played a game less and had a week without a match. Most of our goals conceded have been gift wrapped for the opposition lately. We can't afford to give Ipswich a leg up especially with a sell out crowd. Just hoping the ref doesn't get carried away with the atmosphere as they did in the game v plymouth on sky last week. We probably should have been playing Ipswich without both Morsy and Evans. Huge test for Pack and Tom Lowry of fit or Joe Morrell, will be a battle no doubt.

My observations having played both sides in our past two games are this. First, Pompey are the stronger going forward, They are very fast and exciting at taking the ball forward, with three very good options. I think we are very good at this, but based on one game only, they are better. Second, Ipswich were, I felt, the better organised defensively, and have the better goalie. Third, the ref, Mr Brakespear has sent off more players than any other EFL ref in the last few years, I’d be surprised if both sides finish with 11 players. We all know the feisty players for Ipswich, but Pompey are no innocents in that regard, and they add a RADA trained level of acting that could be very explosive.

Think this should be a great game, have no idea who will win, but a win is probably more important as a statement of intent for the tractor boys. Enjoy it guys.
