I'm sure you all get asked this alot around the net - and people talk about in the boozer etc, but i wanna know your views on it - for any Newcastle fans on here this is no dig at your club, or a our club has won more than you, blah blah blah!!

Personally, i get pretty sick and tired and people saying Newcastle are a 'Massive Club' - you hear it in the media mainly, and from the majority of most Toon fans, they usually respond with "Do you realise were the 9th successful club in England?" yes i understand that, but when you take your last success was in the 60's and the likes of Sunderland are above you in this so called table, it does ask you a question.

Some fans dont seem to bring success up at why they think they're a big club, instead they say its because they get 50k each home game, which if im honest i do find very amusing when i hear this. But anyway, over to you.

They've won the same amount as my lot in my 35 years on Earth, so no.

Yes!! This happens ALL THE TIME. Doesn't matter what you say, they usually come back with "do you realise were the 9th successful club in England?"

I've got a Newcastle supporting mate and we were at the cinema to watch Dawn of Justice, and when the cashier asked him whether he wanted sweet or salted popcorn, Richard shot back with "do you realise were the 9th successful club in England?"

It's a problem, actually. His dad passed away last year and he asked me to come along to the funeral for moral support. He was in bits, the poor bloke, but trying his absolute hardest to keep it together for his little sister and his mum. The reverend or whatever said his bit and up went Rich to do his bit. He'd been struggling over the speech for days in the run-up to the funeral, which had put the burden of organising the funeral on his family, but he was insistent that he wanted to get it right. So they left him to it. He stood up and said "do you realise were the 9th successful club in England?"

Over and over again.

Sometimes I say "Richard, do you mean 'we're the 9th most successful club in England'? Because you're saying 'were the 9th most successful club in England.'"

And sometimes he says "give me a break, mate, my dad's just died and I'm trying to piece my life back together."

But usually he says "do you realise were the 9th successful club in England?"

LOL i enjoyed reading that.

Too be honest, if Newcastle are the 9th most successful club in England, it shows just how poor the divisions are. Looking at this so called success list, they've won 4 titles and 6 cups.

If they go down this year it will be the second time in what 8 seasons? Big clubs don't get relegated that often.

Peronally id say no, big fan base yes but not a big club. They have won nothing for 200 odd years, id put sunderland and middlesborough above them as the top northeast clubs.

Newcastle are like the Marseille of England. It's a big place in a part of the country that people don't really want to go to and everybody supports the football club because they're bugger all else to do.

That's why they have a big fanbase.

I love my barcode homies though. GB, GG. These guys make me get up in the morning.

Leicester City are a bigger club than Newcastle United now.
All the clubs in the North are dying (or are already dead).
The Keegan Years were class, but they never reached the summit of greatness, or sustained a level to compete with the real 'big clubs'.
