They need a new CB, Coady has been alright but he’s still a CM playing at CB and you can tell. Doherty probably needs improving as well along with Ruddy but other than that I think they would easily stay up in the Prem.

You won't find many Wolves fans agreeing with that.

Newcastle and Brighton from last season were both better.
Disagree. Didn't think Newcastle were particularly special, their side from the previous time they were down here was much better, whilst Brighton were just very efficient. Pretty much built for this league, but I reckon this Wolves team would beat them.

Best team the Championship's ever seen is hyperbole, but they'd have won the league last year

Already explained why I think Wolves and Brighton were better.

Squeaky bum time for wolves. Hardly any of their fans were confident when they were 15 pts clear, God knows how they'll be if it drops to 3pts, and lots only help them if they end up not going up, there will be a day of mourning in wolverhampton.

We've been singing about going up since October, if anything I'd say we became too complacent. All the talk of record points and best ever team at this level was very premature.

We are still 10 points clear of third though and have a chance to go 9 clear of yourselves tomorrow, not quite squeaky bum time yet.

Shelvey and Ritchie wouldn't get in our side as neither would fit the system, I'd previously have wanted Gayle but seeing how Afobe has made us disjointed I'd be wary of Gayle now.

Coady has been instrumental to our style of play, to the extent he's arguably been our most important player, loads was made of Mitrovic's supposed good game being on Coady, however first half you can see there was a clear plan to let him win and bring the ball down before engaging him, and that was mostly working, Coady doing that on the Half Way line then robbing him lead to our best chance first half for example.

I think the Wolves side is good, we get a lot of teams kicking the crap out of us which hinders some of it, however other than when Cardiff simply outplayed us and set up really effectively, I think most people have slept on the fact Nuno has done a tremendous job tactically, for the most.

The idea that anyone could do what he has doesn't fit, Wolves fans would have happily seen Coady leave to Sheff Utd for 250k before the season, two of our signings were Ruddy and Bennett who weren't getting a game for Norwich. Saiss and Caverlo werent getting a game under Lambert. I think people over look that.

If they don’t fit your system then you just wouldn’t sign them.

If Wolves were to sign Shelvey he would stroll into the side with his cock out.

I'd rather not have that twat anywhere near our side. Ability wise he's a poor mans Morgan Gibbs-White :bg:

He isnt as good as Neves at linking play or passing, and he isnt as good as the defensive side and screening as Saiss. So I'd dispute that vehemently.

So, reading through the thread, every second tier club promoted since 1973 was better than the current Wolves side. And all of last season's entire division. Including us.

Wolves weren't promoted by March, with a squad assembled for a tenth of the price and won't get anywhere near 99 goals scored either.

Come back when you've achieved that and we can talk.

Jesus. There was daylight between wolves and the rest and now it looks interesting again.
Top 4 all have a shot at going up.
Could they implode ?
Looks like complacency.

We're 7 points above you FFS. Our run is is by far easier than every other side around us. Whenever we have lost this season people predict we will fall away, yet not one team has overtaken us yet.

Yeah, but it was 15 at one stage so the gap has certainly been closed in the last month or 2. I personally still think Wolves will finish top and think they just had an off day on Saturday and we played very well. It happens.

Us Villa fans are going to enjoy beating you 4-1, you telling me you wouldn't be rubbing it in on here if it had been the other way around? C'mon.

Agree, lets see where we are at the end of the season. Nuno has made a lot of mistakes in the last month that has cost us a decent amount of points. Hopefully if he is good as we think he is, he'll rectify them.

Not really in a position to moan considering we're top, but it's frustrating we keep playing Bonatini up front. He hasn't scored since Birmingham away which was 4th December (16 consecutive games), whilst Afobe is on the bench and hasn't even been given a start yet. Every stat going shows we are better without him (more goals scored, better win ratio, etc) so nobody is really sure why he keeps starting every match. Hopefully he'll be dropped on Tuesday.

Aye not as though you've got form for blowing a massive lead to local rivals is it?

All a fix is the outcome I come to.

The league wouldn’t be fun if it was won in February
