Askey to Wrexham?

Odd choice for Wrexham.

Start of another “3 year project” that fan owned clubs obsess over and rarely materialise. If he has a good first season a bigger club will snap him up, sacked if they finish bottom half. Only way he’ll be there 2 years is if he continues the tradition of Wrexham being the new Macc and fading into 10th every season.

I certainly hope we are the new Macc.

Whenever Askey fancies a payrise from Macc I think. He will be FLATTERED to be linked but will remain at Macc like the previous 40 years.

Can't blame him really. After all who wouldn't want to stay at a club that will see the best years of Danny Whitaker as he continues to fulfil his undoubted potential at such a young age.

Appointing a young manager with no experience as part of a “three year plan”. Sounds familiar. Let’s see if Wrexham can get out of the league in 1 season like we managed to.

I hope Sam Ricketts does well at Wrexham. He was extremely popular at Wolves, on and off the pitch. He was one of the key players - and captain for much of the season - when our renaissance started in League 1 after we had been in freefall. I reckon he'll do well in management.

Andy Davies has departed Wrexham, leaving room for Askey to step in and take the number 2 role at the club he's always loved. Don't you know that he used to stand on the kop as a lad?
