I think we should allow the big Scottish sides to play reserve teams in the lower leagues., ]
In the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, Germany, France, and Spain the big sides play reserve or youth sides in the proper leagues. This allows young players to get early experience of competitive football. So allows young players to get experience behind them. It allows young players to develop.
If we did this in Scottish football, it would allow more Scottish players to develop and get game time to develop as senior players.
My preferred option would be for all Scottish Premier sides to play under 23 year old sides in the League One or League Two. With under 23 year old teams banned from promotion to the Championship. This would be fun.
Some will say that it is unfair to take league places away from smaller sides. But I disagree. I have no problem with more teams being added to the League.
But I would put developing more international players as more of priority than adding more non league sides to the league.
