Good L1 players don't become conference players overnight unless something drastic happens to lose the dressing room. When it has a bad effect on a number of players, they can either refuse to play and insist on a move or go through the motions to see out their contract while trying to get fixed up elsewhere. Even if it is not the managers fault. he is the one to take the ultimate hit. Grayson or anyone else could not lift these players.
