This is actually a huge game for both teams, Hartlepool could end up in the relegation spots if they lose and Newport win, and anything but a win for us will surely see us drop out the playoffs again.

Two teams on dire form, it could go either way. We've got a decent record against Hartlepool since we came back down (though I did say the same about Notts County..) so hopefully we can pull something out the hat. I'm not too confident.

Away tickets sold out, I haven't been to Hartlepool for about 10 years so looking forward to it.

Hartlepool's results have obviously been dire, but I'd be astonished if they are actually as bad as us.

For me Hartlepool are favourites, simply because I cannot imagine a professional football team being worse than us. A draw would be shite for both teams, but that outcome wouldn't surprise me as that can happen when two woeful teams meet, but anyone betting should put their money on a Hartlepool win.

We have sold out the away end for this, but I won't be going as I "lost" my ticket last night. Usually I'd be gutted about this but this time I'm not at all, I doubt I'll be missing a classic.

If Hartlepool win this I'll back them to stay up given they'll no doubt dispose of Orient on the Monday and then play a Barnet side in freefall after that...

We have a crap record against your lot recently so I'd be pretty okay with a point regardless of Carlisle's current form and supposed lack of ability, this is of course with the assumption that we're going to beat Orient on the Monday, 4 points from 6 would be a decent return over Easter, anything less and it's panic stations.

Jones has to start with two strikers up front, Amond is doing a great job on his own, 14 goals in a side at the arse end of the division, but I'd love to see him given a proper strike partner for the full game, at the moment he's doing the job of two strikers, we can't keep accommodating this weak as piss midfield three that keep letting us down game after game. We're also due a performance from Nathan Thomas who hasn't looked like the same player since his injury, probably cos he's got his eyes on his summer transfer move.

Always nice to see a full away end, if you could kindly ask the pond life to leave the seats were they found them this time it'd be much appreciated

The season we beat you 2-1 when Matty Robson scored a late winner, I arrived to my allocated seat only for it to be missing. I took my ticket and asked a steward where my seat was, he took me there, only to realise the problem. He just f***ed off
It's a good job I was in an area where everyone was standing anyway.

We have no midfield , it usually takes around 40 mins for the opposition to work that out .... a draw wouldn't be a complete disaster for Pools , and I think that's how we will set up

Oh and Battling Relegation in the title seems very generous, sleepwalking to oblivion is more accurate.

With both teams desperate for points for different reasons this could be a really good local derby.

Haven't been able to see us play at Pools on both occasions we played up there, but there's always next year right? So, for this rather selfish reason alone, I'll be looking with interest at the result of this match and hoping the Poolies get the win. Can't have them going down to the connie see.

Sorry Carver buddy :animatedf:

I went to Morecambe yesterday , it's less than 2 hours by car , closer than both Carlisle and Grimsby , that's more of a Derby ... I think Accrington is the closest to us at the moment

Edit ! ......pools to Carlisle 90 miles
Pools to Accrington 102 ...but from my house Accrington is closer , and Morecambe an easier drive !

The bookies actually have us as favourites for this game, I assume you'll be sticking something on Hartlepool at 9/5.

It'll be a very low quality game for sure, but there's usually goals in these games. We've scored 3 goals in 4 of the last 5 matches against them, hopefully that run continues.

Is there no chance of getting a replacement if you contact the club?

You really should "find" your ticket so you can see for yourself that there is a professional football team worse than you

If you really want to watch the game (although you don't seem particularly arsed) just buy a ticket on the day and stand in the home end, there will empty spaces galore.

Might do that actually. Prefer terracing than seats anyway.

Back to the game.. if Jones persists with his god awful defensive tactics, then you won't need to do anything spectacular to beat us. Just mark Amond out of the game, then wait for our defence to make a mistake and you can walk away with a 1-0 win.

Hopefully after 14 games Jones has realised this tactic won't work and just goes for it. I'd rather us throw everything at you and lose 4-3 than our usual shitfest defeats

Fryer
Magnay Walker Harrison Donnelly (even though he's been guano)
Alessandra Featherstone Deverdics Thomas
Oates Amond

Is the lineup I'd like to see, although the chances of it happening are fucking zero, I think Deverdics deserves a run in the midfield in his natural position, he was signed as an attacking goal scoring set piece taker and has hardly had a chance, I'm not saying he's some world beater with bags of ability but he can't be any worse than Woods and Hawkins, who for me have both gone backwards in recent months, Hawkins especially.

Donnelly is bobbins and has a major rickett in him at least once a match, he's took over the role of Toto Nsiala, chief fuckup of the defence, but we have no other left back at the club with any semblance of experience so sadly he must start.

Finally please, leave Oates upfront alongside Amond, none of this 1 upfront 1 behind bollocks. Two upfront, let's just go for it.

Every week in every match thread we have to attempt to explain just how bad we are, but no amount of explaining can do us justice. You have to see us to believe it.

Friday night you'll know what we mean.

What he said. They're pretty bad. We beat them without even going into second gear.

Won some money on the Madrid double last night, so I'm tempted to lump all my winnings onto the Hartlepool win here seeing as the bookies have them as underdogs.

Do the bookies only look at league position and not even consider recent form? I've won hundreds over the past couple of months due to bookies having Carlisle as favourites. Last week we were favourites against Notts County despite their good form and us having only won 1 home game in 2017.

Don't get me wrong I fucking hate this current shite we're serving up and really wish we'd get back to being even a mediocre standard league 2 team, but while we're shite and almost certain to lose every week I might as well take money off the bookies in the process. Call it compensation for having to suffer these performances.

Bank it for a few weeks. Pools are drawn to relegation spots like a moth to the flame.
