Akinde was absolute shite and he was pushing and pulling just as much, you can't complain he was being pushed when he's the biggest lad on the park and was doing the same, i hope our kitman has checked Bennets back pocket because akinde might still be in there. The foul on mal was stupid and there was no need, he seems to only have a good game when he scores a penalty... interesting how boggle and wyke have gone up the leagues but akinde doesn't look to be going anywhere, scores a few mostly from the spot and is bang average at everything else from what I've seen of him personally.

You don't half talk some bollocks. He's one of it not the best striker in this league. Strong and powerful, He's caused us problems everytime he's played against us bar yesterday. He was average yesterday but he was marshalled well by our defence. I said I'd be impressed if we coped well against him and we did.

Akinde had two big defenders pulling him and inch close fouling him at every opportunity. No one would have performed well with that kind of attention.

Come back and tell me he's that shite when you see him more than twice a season.

I have to agree about akinde, he put half our side on him (sometimes literally) in the home game and he still scored the winning and only goal. Even with the recent additions to our squad, if you asked Mansfield fans whether they'd have akinde, I'd say 4 in 5 would have him in a heartbeat - I certainly would.

I wasn't at the game but find it laughable that we can complain about a defence who kept Akinde quiet. One of Akinde's major strengths is his ability to bully defenders and entice fouls (especially in the box). He regularly walks the line between fair and foul play. Sounds as though the Mansfield defence simply marshalled him well by walking that same line.

Top half this season will be a good achievement for us, and the investment we've made in the squad has got to have been made with a permanent manager in mind (at least I hope it was!), so I think we should be realistic with our expectations. However, we're still in touching distance with the top 7 so still have something to aim for between now and May.

Need a win soon though, as that's now a few games without a win and we have some tough fixtures coming up...

Its not bollocks when I've not personally seen him play well, on 5 occasions... as i already said. Id have him here based on his record but I've never seen him do more than throw his weight around and score a penalty.

His goal record for barnet though is impressive so i don't doubt he's a top talent I've just sadly never witnessed it.

Maybe it's the pressure of knowing he's being scouted by football analyst extraordinaire WH_Stag which makes him put in average displays for you. I can understand the weight of expectation on his shoulders on those occasions though.
