Best team played - Colchester were pretty good, play in a similar way to ourselves, Crewe were also a decent side, but I would go for Newport who looked really decent against us.

Worst team played - Oldham, they just looked old and slow, we kept them at arms length for an hour...at which point they ran out of energy completely and our kids just moved up a gear. Scunthorpe looked like they had just come to batter us, two yellow cards inside the first ten minutes suggests as much, biggest mystery was why it took until time added on at the end of the game for one of their players to see red.

Best opposition player - Padraig Amond a player who I have admired for years, we did gift him a goal when we played Newport but he was a class above. Someone else mentioned Perry Ng, another fine player.

Best goal - Not necessarily the best finish but Joe Mills's second on Saturday against Swindon probably had the most riding on it, had we lost I could have seen our season petering out but coming from two down to draw with the league leaders may well give us the impetus to make this season at least as successful as the last one.

Best opposition support - Swindon, maybe that is because they are the most recent in my memory and they did make a bit of noise, or that there were undoubtedly loads of them mixed in with the home supporters and they behaved themselves. Respect for the Cumbrians who traveled down in numbers for the cup game.

Worst opposition support - Can't remember anyone...which is probably the point if they were that bad.
Our performance against your lot was quality. We quickly realised your players weren't up for a fight as they were going down under any contact so we decided to bully you all game and then let our talented wingers do the damage. It obviously worked a treat.

Not a single mention so far. Conclusive proof that we are incredibly, forgettably, bog-average both on and off the pitch. That’ll do me.

Walsall time wasted and cheated and we dont do that. We lost to walsall cos we were crap ourselves had no shots on target and they had 1 shot on target that went in was a very poor game. We had alot of important players missing for that walsall game aswell which had they played could have changed the outcome of the match. Yeah forest green were a good side but we played them off the park especially in that first half. That forest green game and the Bradford game were 2 of our best performances this season.
see a lot of your fans saying we are the worst they have seen but i could say that about you as well utter shite and no better than us has pope found his way out of dan scarrs pocket yet? this league is utter cack in fairness not seen anything that resembles a decent side us included.

Not been to an away game yet this season, so all conclusions drawn with that caveat. Worth remembering that we have been complete shit at home and only won once there in the league since the opening day.

Best team you've played?
Forest Green were superb for 45 minutes. Port Vale as well. But Swindon are the ones that absolutely battered us for the full 90 minutes.

Worst team you've played?
Walsall were so bad that we actually beat them, but I can’t honestly say that anyone has been worse than Carlisle. Should have beaten them about 7-1. But we didn’t. Because Orient. Crawley were piss too - and they won!

Best opposition player?
Ebou Adams. C**t.

Best goal?
Connor Wilkinson hit a right old thunderbastard in the 3-3 draw with Port Vale. Vale scored one that was nearly as good in the same game.

Best opposition support?
Bradford brought good numbers, but weren’t very loud. Not much to shout about for them to be fair. Vale were probably up there, all things considered, but I’ll plump for Cheltenham. Good numbers, great noise and a wonderful tribute to Justin.

Worst opposition support?
Not many to choose from, to be fair. A mention for Nailsworth Village and their pitiful 200 or so for a new London ground, but Walsall sat there like mute dummies for 90 minutes. Very odd bunch.

I've had s look at your results this season you beat Oldham at home 3 nil yet a side that beat you 2 1 is deemed the worst side you have faced proves you know fuck all about football

....and you seem to lack common sense. You assume I went to the Oldham game.

We were absolutely dire, Pope was fouled most of the game (number 5 is who in turn went down like a sack of shit all the time) and starved of any service.

The difference a Worrall makes to us was highlighted big time in the chalk and cheese between that one and last Saturday.

264 isn't that bad for us, around 15% of our average home gate. Equivalent of you bringing 900 to us.

What this thread proves is that football fans really are over sensitive souls. It’s a thread about opinions, it’s really not worth getting worked up about because someone from Grimsby or Walsall for example didn’t think your side played very well or that your fans were quiet!!

I couldn't agree more - I made a joke in the away fans thread a few weeks ago and some fans took it so seriously, it was funnier than the joke.

That said, supporters of Premier league sides on twitter are on another level. The amount of whataboutery and anger when people say negative things about their football clubs is just laughable.

Fwiw I’ve only seen 3 sides so far this season.

Best was Crewe by some distance. Worst was Mansfield/Plymouth, however neither were bad (in fact I thought both played well) so the fact I’ve only been to 3 games has seriously distorted this opinion!!

It’s all about on the day doesn’t mean your the worst overall! We’ve only beaten Carlisle and Morecambe from the bottom half yet beaten Crewe, FGR, Bradford, Cheltenham in the cup, Plymouth.

It’s on the day! Football as a rule makes no sense anyway. We will probably beat Swindon and then get done over by Morecambe a fortnight later.

Best opposition player - Toss up between Nathan Thomas and Abo Eisa, two quality wide attacking players for sides that caused us a lot of problems. Thomas edges it cos he scored 2 crackers wheareas Eisa only got 1.

Best goal - Jack Aitchison's goal at Cheltenham was quality, great run by Stevens, nice interplay between Sheps and Aitch on the edge of the box and clinical finish. Liquid football in a big game. Best goal against us probably Eisa's for Scunthorpe, what a hit.

Best opposition support - Swindon, Plymouth and Newport brought good numbers. Carlisle and Billericay were the loudest though.

Worst opposition support - Bit harsh but probably Morecambe away. Felt very flat and depressed.

It’s strange how on Boxing Day we’ll be playing Cambridge for the second time this season and then 3 days later we face Vale, who we haven’t played yet! Strange quirk by the fixture computer isn’t it? (and yes I realise it’s every team impacted and not just us)

It’s unusual and in a weird quirk the return fixture is only less than four weeks later!

I believe that's the same for all teams. We play Walsall for the second time on Boxing Day and then play Crewe for the first time 3 days later. I know Grimsby play Macclesfield for the 2nd time on boxing day and then Crawley for the first time on the 29th.

The fixtures computer is indeed a bit strange, it decided that we should play Carlisle and Morecambe home and away on Tuesday evenings.

Piss take.

Had Carlisle away twice on Tuesday nights this season.

Had Carlisle away twice on Tuesday nights this season.

Clubs ask for their longest trips to be Tuesday nights because attendances won’t be affected that badly as less away fans would travel due to distance anyway and it means they don’t need to overnight as have all day to travel rather than a Saturday where they have to overnight on the Friday in most cases.

Hence Exeter and FGR are two of ours... and Yeovil home and away last season for example.

Best team you've played? - Swindon by a country mile, they will go up. Just hope we're safe by the time we go there for our final away game. Watched Plymouth twice and whilst not as good as Swindon, they have a good side there IMO.

Worst team you've played?- Morecambe and they still beat us because we had Fletcher in charge - Took a wonder goal to do it mind.

Best opposition player? Ebou Adams

Best goal? Been a few, for us Conor Wilkinson vs Port Vale and JMDs free kick on Saturday were both net busters from range. Against - Jake Taylor for Port Vale and AJ Leitch Smith for Morecambe.

Best opposition support? Plymouth away from home and Swindon at our place.

Worst opposition support? Honestly, no one has stood out to me as being totally crap.

It is mad when I see so many fans rave about how Swindon are the best side to play at some grounds this season. Whilst I obviously won't dispute that, it confuses me so much as to why they played like they had some sort of inferiority complex at Gresty Road in October. I see them play such fantastic football on the highlights on a weekly basis but they just didn't bother doing it at our place in a massive game for both sides? They obviously have a great side and two fine goalscorers, but they didn't even attempt to play their A game against us and were happy to give us the ball all game. I'm sure they'll give us more of a game in a couple of weeks though.

That said it's swings and roundabouts, we looked like a pub team against Vale and even though we played well in spells against Northampton we were defensively all at sea which isn't befitting of a top side.

Sometimes a team just doesn't show up I guess. We've been good most of the time this season but definitely had a few poor performances thrown in. Summed up by FGR away on Saturday where we were probably one of the best teams they'd faced in the first half and played like strangers in the second.
