That shows the worthiness of his thread. It is a bit of fun but how can you judge a team on one game.
Agree, a bit of fun but I won't add my opinion until New Year after when FGR will have played every other team in league.

Keep yer knickers on.

Look at the thread title. "Best and worst you've seen"

Northampton were gash against Dale on the only occasion I saw you. I have no clue how you play now because I don't see you play every week.

And breathe.....

It always amazes me how defensive some people get. You've obviously been doing much better recently...perhaps us outplaying you made your Manager have a re-think?

Still think our 90 minutes at home against Crawley is possibly the worst team performance I've seen in this, or any other league for a long time.

I believe that that went completely over your head?? :gmc:

With a newborn to look after I've managed to get to only two games so far this season. Not hard to pick between the two.

Best - Aston Villa
Worst - Bristol Rovers

Best - Orient were clinical. Bristol Rovers also absolutely battered us for a half of football. On both occasions we were awful though so I’m sure that helped.

Worst - Stevenage were truly garbage. On a par with our worst performances

Jesus you must have been truly awful If Bristol Rovers battered you!

Best were Brentford by a mile, unsurprisingly, it was quite a compliment that they had to bring on some of their best players in the second half of our League Cup game to beat us. In the league Swindon, Port Vale and Leyton Orient have all looked pretty good, most if not all of them should be challenging for the play-offs at least.

It is hard to pick a worst team, as most have done at least OK against us, but I would probably reserve the award for ineptness for Cardiff who we played in pre-season...not sure if this qualifies...who for vast chunks of the game could not cope with us. It was hard to work out which was the Championship team and it was fairly obvious that they might be in for a season of struggle...the 2-1 scoreline flattered them, even though their goals were well taken.

I missed the Exeter match, but friends tell me that they've been the best visitors to Victoria Park so far. From what I've seen I'd pick Northampton, at least in the first half. They were comfortably the better side before the break and it was no surprise when they took they lead shortly after it. Our response was excellent but it needed a change of personnel and formation on the hour to really get on top of the game. I've seen no other side shake us out of our comfort zone at home so far.

There have been other sides who have easily beaten us, notably Sutton, Stevenage and Salford. All were very comfortable in putting us away, though we have struggled regularly on our travels and I'm not entirely sure how much of those performances were down to them and how much down to us. In Northampton's case it was definitely them.

I'd echo earlier comments about Walsall. That was our most comfortable win so far this season, more so than Bristol Rovers or Bradford, with the Saddlers proving to be surprisingly flat and inert opponents.

I've seen quite a few games this season and have to confess I can't really say any team we played were any good. In fact all have been awful including us. If I had to pick one as the best I would probably plump for Leyton Orient. This 4th division is dreadful and I do include us in that.

The fact that we have been poor for all but a few 45min periods this season, yet there are still 6 clubs below us, confirms that as true.

Best: Harrogate who did a real tactical number on us at home when we had been looking in good form. They won 2-0 and I think only Forest Green have scored past us at home since.

Worst: Sorry to say is Hartlepool, losing 5-0 they seemed to give up pretty quickly and were a calamity in slow motion for much of the game. I get though that it was a bit of a one off bad day at the office and we should of had a player sent off for a second yellow. I know the pools usually are a decent side based on clips I've seen. Also was surprising because I rate Dave Challinor.
