Used to be Underhill. Fairly local, took decent numbers (for us), good atmosphere, terracing, friendly fans, what's not to like?

City Ground.

Despite some horrible memories there (Barry Knight *shudder*) it is my favourite ground other than Deepdale. Also a cracking night out in Notts.

P.S Special mention to the acoustics at the KC, don't know why but it always feels really loud in the away end there.

That I've been too would be St James Park, Going again Sunday so will be trying out plenty of local watering holes.

One that I've visited a few times though would be Sincil Bank, We always take good numbers, the stmosphere is always good being in the same stand as the home fans and everytime bar one that I've been we have got a last minute winner/equaliser. Plus Lincoln is a really good day/night out.

With Aber all the way with Aggborough too. Shame the way they are heading as it could be years before we get to visit again.

I enjoyed Lutons stadium; complete shit hole which a ground should be at that level!! Quite a few bars to drink at as well.

I supposed it helped that it was a Tuesday night relegation battle game, which added to the atmosphere.

Always bloody loved Chorley's Victory Park. So much so that I drove over from Yorkshire one morning to risk asbestosis by removing the roof from one of the terraces there. Yesterday the news broke that a replacement roof is being funded by a benefactor, so the place will still look tidy in years to come. Shame you can't use the grass banking (complete with crush barriers) anymore, and the central gangway that leads from a ginnel in the middle of a neighbouring street. Glad the old girl's enjoying the crowds it deserves now, too.

Would like to visit Boston United's York Street again too, on a day with a big crowd in. A quirky set-up with lots of terracing and you're always close to the action.

A controversial one but I also love Workington's Borough Park. A big bowl of crumbling terrace, distressed brick and tumbledown stands. Sea behind one end, Lakeland fells behind the other. Rusty old floodlights until recently. The crowning glory however is the former main stand, which was condemned after being decimated in a storm several decades ago. For the longest time they just left the thing as is with the seating boarded up and the access shuttered in. Then they eventually got rid of the roof and most of it now remains in the form of a huge sloping roof that dominates the stadium, under which is a dark, cramped clubhouse. Shamelessly rugged.

Also Third Lanark's Cathkin Park home. Obviously.

Isn't a ginnel a little alleyway?
Aggborough and Griffin Park for me. Both have a good mix of covered seating and terracing in decent locations, also the food does really stand out at Aggborough.

I enjoyed the the Emirates as a stadium when I went but the atmosphere is truly shocking which sort of lets it down, I also enjoyed Newcastle and Sunderland although in both your up in the gods and can't really see the action very well, I'm going to Watford away in a couple of weeks and am quite looking forward to it, anyone been or any Watford fans with tips?

I've been there several times with my Granddaughter who is a 10 year old Watford fan, it's an easy user friendly ground to get in and out of with good views of the pitch from just about any seat in the stadium.

Wembley by a long way, been twice and was in the bottom tier 1st time and didn't think much of it but the 2nd time i was in the top tier and it's just breathtakingly good, it's looks enormous when your sat up there, just a shame about the lack of atmosphere for England games compared to the old Wembley when it was intimidating.

Villa Park for the traditional side of things, The Amex for a newer build, and The Abbey for a classic lower league mix of old and new.

Used to love the away end at Underhill down the side, you could make a great atmosphere in there. Finally got round to going to Villa Park last season when I was living in Birmingham and if I take my "I prefer smaller grounds with terracing" hat off, I'd say it was definitely up there as one of the best in the country. Massive, but with loads of tradition. It even looks classy from outside the Holte End.

The old away end at London Road was brilliant too. I really enjoyed going to Stevenage too to be fair but maybe that was because it was fairly local so we actually took a decent number away for once, making for a good atmosphere.

Have always enjoyed Meadow Lane. Local, nice ground and only a short walk from the train station with Hooters en route.

In terms of bigger stadiums, I really liked the Millennium Stadium, and Old Trafford.

I really liked Vale Park away end too, only 450 - 500 of us but it felt packed and really loud in there, until I saw the highlights on tv which made it look like there were about 10 of us!

Fail Park is poorly raked and too far from the pitch.
Gresty Road generates a better atmosphere.

Got to be Brentford ... Easy to get to (usually 6am train from Manc for us) into Camden by 9 ... then round Covent Garden ... the 4 pubs around the ground... a 2 tier away end ... with the bottom tier terracing ... doesn't get any better than that.

Interesting you pick the Abbey as a lower league ground. I mean, Obviously I like it but it doesn't strike me as a good away ground as the away end is miles from the pitch and the ground is some distance from any pubs.
