Just wasnt in the league as long as many of the others; which reduces his standing in my opinion.

If you were lookig for a balanced three in midfield he should be most peoples holding midfielder.

Everton - Arteta, Cahill & Gravasen

I don't think they ever played together. The best football we played under Moyes was when our central midfield 3 was Carsley, Osman & Cahill in the 07/08 season.

Vieira & Scholes have always been my favourite centre mids. If you want to count attacking mids/number 10s then Ozil & Silva would also be on the list
