This season the best player I have seen for the opposition has been Karl Henry.

It's a bit of a struggle to pick any one stand out player, but Pritchard when he played for Swindon against us was great IIRC. Lampard in the second leg of our cup tie against Chelsea was also great.

Dean Ashton and Gareth Bale looked a cut above when they played against us in the Championship years ago.

it's a strange one obviously i've seen us play against some great individuals that on their day were up there with their best in the world at the time but one performance always stands out for me and it was in the Championship a few years back, i've never seen a player rip us apart like Adam Johnson did playing for Middlesborough

Michael Owen and Andrei Kanchelskis are the two that stand out in my mind, the Kanchelskis game was April 96 and he was lethal as Everton battered us 5-2 at Hillsborough. The Owen game was February 98 and the boy wonder netted a superb hat trick to secure a 3-3 draw for the Bin Dippers.

i was thinking Owen myself, was at the game but i could have only been about 7/8 so i couldn't remember too much about it, just what people had said since

I was 17, he was absolutely top notch that day.

As was mentioned loads of people have tore up Wolves so there is quite a list to choose from. However an understated one, Is Scholes having 100+ touches against us in a game we lost either 4-0 or 5-0. Think about that for a second! Granted we had a man sent off earlier but then he pretty much just stood in the centre circle bullying us.

Best English midfielder of his generation, forget your Gerrards and Lampards, Scholes was far superior.

Elm Park - Eric Cantona - he didn't particularly have a good game, but he had an aura about him and he just oozed class.

At the Madejski - Cristiano Ronaldo - glided across the pitch, seemed on another level to everyone else. Was a joy to watch. Rooney, Scholes and Giggs oozed class as well. The Arsenal side of 2007/08 - Henry, Fabregas, Hleb - absolutely ruined us, I've never seen anything better to this day.

Highlight of that game being Steve Bruce missing an open goal and Paul Parker scoring from the halfway line.

More recently Berbatov scoring 4 goals past us in a Premier League game for Spurs. He looked world class that day.

Yup, we wasted his talent with all that getting Gerrard and Lampard in the side bollocks would be my opinion. I used to go Old Trafford a lot (at least 10 games a year on average) from about 93-2000 and Scholes was someone that I remember being heralded as the next Mark Hughes, but it was only when he began to start to play in midfield that he truly shone. I was once at a Utd v Inter pre season match where they rolled a free kick back to Scholes and he smashed it full blast into Aaron Winter's face, fairly certain Winter left on a stretcher!

We are similar aged pal so my club years as a kid were mainly PL football albeit watching Wednesday , I remember Scholes (24) coming through, he was always highly regarded like many of the 92, you just knew.

I was at college in 98 when we went to France, I did a first year accountancy exam inside 45 minutes to ensure I saw the Tunisia game, it was a 3 hour exam.

Gerrard and Lampard were great club players but at the level we needed they failed, Scholes never did he was just shunted aside for the media darlings. Neither of them could lace his boots

Remember him being played on the left of that 442 diamond bollocks for one manager, thinking Hoddle, but probably because I hate him! I remember 98 as it was the first tournament I was really old enough to be in the pub for without fear of being lobbed out.

Saw Wednesday a few times at old trafford, recall being there when they took a pasting too, although having had a look I might have been at the 6-1 and 5-0 games.

I have reached a stage where one of the lads who plays for the side I manage asked me about if I remembered Wednesday being in the premier league because he had heard from someone that they were in the prem but is too young. Told him about how they were originally a top half side and just wained, personally though I still associate Wednesday as a big side that should be in the prem and that's mainly because of that era when the prem started and I was really obsessed and could have told you virtually every player from every side, not to forget that awful giant sumo wrestling bollocks they used to do at half time!
