Overly rowdy if you ask me. It was more to do with the abuse thrown at Akinde than the violent behaviour towards our netting.

I quite like the Woking bunch in all honesty. Know a few who go to most of the games and they're all sound.

Having been to most of the grounds we've played at in the past 5 or 6 years, I've always got on with Wrexham and Grimsby fans, and Mansfield were a decent bunch too.

Was a few complete bellends one year when we played away at Alfreton.

Stockport are a noisy noisy bunch and always have been. Travel well and have edured even more relegations than us, so I'll go with them.

The same happened when we played Alfreton a few seasons a go but now there's this little inner clique between the two sets of fans and we're now best of buddies, i find it strange after what i've seen from them

They seem to me like a Boreham Wood type. E.g. a load of banned Football League fans turn up just to cause trouble. I can't remember whether it was this season or the last, but one of their fans walked the length of the pitch during the game to go and stare at the Woking fans behind the goal whilst banging a drum. He was quickly told where to go by us.

I think I know the clique that you're on about with Alfreton. They seem to be obsessed over their supporters coaches and think Alfreton is a model club for some reason. Now that they've been relegated it'll probably be like they don't even exist anymore.

From teams I've watched with Chester

Best - Leeds, Grimsby, Bournemouth, Stockport

Worst - Bristol Rovers, decent numbers but sat down silent for 90 minutes even when 2-0 up. Barnsley were terrible as well.

In matches other than Chester:

Best - Sheffield United, Chelsea, Pompey.

Worst: Liverpool, Birmingham, Everton.

Best i've seen at BP would have to be West Brom.
Cold Tuesday night packed out away end, 'boing boing' for virtually the whole game, annoying as fuck but really impressive.
We finally shut them up by going in front in the 89th minute, only for them to equalise straight from the kick off!

Worst fans for me, not for numbers but just for being total c***, is Wolves.
I've been to Molineux twice now, and they really do not take getting beaten very well, absolute wankers.
They also once at BP in the late 80s/early 90s smashed loads of windows near Blundell Park after we knocked them out of the FA Cup.

Wolves are one of a select group of league sides that I have never seen (without digging old programmes out of the attic I think it may be just them, Everton and MK Dons), either home or away, before or since following Rovers. I have a similar opinion of Oxford Utd, they misbehaved on a visit to our place a few years ago and a game at the Kassam isn't to be recommended for light entertainment or those of a nervous disposition. Do you think this is a regional thing, that bitter rivals will always have an issue with each other but are unlikely to have anything bordering that with a team from miles away? That said, there is a fair distance between Wolverhampton and Grimsby, so maybe your view stands up to scrutiny.

As a kid i actually used to have a soft spot for Wolves as my Grandad was from there, but at both games there they were doing slit throat gestures at us, and walking back to the coach after the 2nd game, which is the one where we beat them, they tried attacking us and had to be held back by a police line.
Obviously I can't speak for other clubs experiences there, but as we were always a small fry in the Championship and they acted like that with us, i would expect that when the bigger sides turned up there with more fans, it wouldn't have been pretty!

I guess it really depends on how we regard best and worst, there seems to be a fair amount of overlap even on this thread. For me worst would mean that we feared for our safety, or maybe even got attacked somewhere (for me that is Pompey, Palace and Huddersfield, plus a timely intervention by the Police in Hull to save my skin when I fell for the "what time is it mate?" question), but to be fair that was largely in the 80's and things have changed a fair amount since then. Best might be that the locals were really friendly and regarded me with curiosity as much as anything else, absolutely no element of threat whatsoever, maybe due to the fact that I was following a team from miles away or just because it wasn't one of their rivals (Exeter, Hartlepool, Rotherham and to a degree Burnley all fall into that category). I haven't been to Grimsby yet, might try and make it up next season as I hear the fish and chips are first class, rest assured I won't be bringing a beach ball or try to initiate a WWF session with the stewards!

You must hate nets being ruffled then ;)

Best: 10,000 Dortmund fans at Emirates, in terms of non league, Grimsby I guess

Worst: Never heard Southport or Braintree sing really, Staines Town

Well it's only right we should be bracketed together, we have copied the Teutonic Sieg chant, and probably had 10k fans or more doing the Feesh version at Wembley...we do play like a non-league version of Germany as well, just haven't quite mastered the penalties bit...
