But it isn’t. It’s visible from public land that he didn’t have to cut any wires to get to. It’s a complete non-story, bored of hearing about it.
If a guy is bringing wire cutters, whether he got the chance to use them or not, then it’s clear what his intent was

If he didn’t have any wire cutters, and is just standing on a road somewhere, then that’s fine

The difference is if I went to watch a training session, that’s all I would be doing. I wouldn’t be filming, writing notes and making a dossier to report back to the next opposition with.

It is cheating. It’s trying to gain an advantage and makes the game as a contest pointless if you’re trying to start a game with that advantage.

Fuck Bielsa anyway, he’s won next to fuck all despite spying on his opponents his whole career and compiling 300 hours of analysis on opponents. Well done mate.

I do like that he’s just fronting it though.

There is something wrong with it though, if there wasn’t it wouldn’t have all been so secretive. He’d Just have staff bowling up there in their Leeds tracksuits.

It’s an attempt to gain an unfair advantage.

I’d be a bit embarrassed if I was him to be honest, suddenly you don’t look quite as good a manager as you did especially when you’ve admitted to doing it for years yet winning diddly squat for over 20 years.

Like I said though, FairPlay to him, he’s wearing it.

It’s been blown out of proportion but it’s cheating, plain and simple.
Last time I checked there was no official rule against it? Obviously there will be now but they didn’t nothing wrong technically. Bielsa should not be punished in any way.

That presser was basically to show that they have gotten where they have now by doing all the work they have on analysing every last detail of the opposition, not by sending some work experience kid to try and catch a glimpse of the opposition’s training.

No, officially it’s not cheating but ethically it is. It’s a underhand tactic to gain an unfair advantage before a ball has even been kicked.

I don’t believe he should be punished for it either although I don’t agree with him being ‘great’ or a ‘genius’ I think he’s bit of bell. He’s a part of the reason it’s been so blown out of proportion by making it all about him and calling a special press conference about it.

Wasn’t the guy who was sent to the training ground carrying wire cutters?

Either way. It’s cheating in my book. Leeds and Bielsa should be punished.

And any other club found to be doing it should also be punished.

It’s not clever scouting. Training grounds should be off limits.
Nope Frank was lying about alot of things

Go on Derbyshire police Twitter they will tell you the finer details and not Frank's made up fairy tale

Bielsa has shown up Fat Frank spectacularly, totally different level lol. What a guy. English football is lucky to have someone like him working here. This spying thing is being blown up out of all proportion, much worse stuff is going on in football then some bloke standing on a public road looking over a hedge at a team training ffs. If i were Derby I'd have laughed it off and invited him in.

The fake outrage is just jealousy and the fact that it's Leeds. For the likes of Keown and especially Collymore to go on about morals is absurd, fucking hypocrites.

I don't actually mind what Frank has done it's jermaine jenas that's doing my head in

Frank has had a few smiles about it and just got on with it but he has lied to the media about 2 things 1 there was no pliers as confirmed by the police and 2 police never went onto the training pitches to disrupt training as confirmed by them

Other than that he's not going on about it as much as jenas and now stuart Pearce is

This whole “Bielsa is a genius” thing is being blown way out of proportion. Several managers have come out and said what he has shown the press is nothing new, all clubs do it.

Yeah, it's nothing special. I find it funny that when Leeds do it, their manager is a genius and they are pioneers in football. When Brentford do it, we're ruining football by relying too much on statistics and data.

Why does Bielsa get his arse rimmed so much by English football fans, is it because his Bilbao team played pretty football in the 2 seasons he was there? His cv looks piss poor, not far off a Carlos Carvalhal type cv.

Listen to what the likes of Pep, Pochettino and Sir Alex have to say about him. Tells you a lot.

When has anyone ever said that? Is this another one of your “the world hates Brentford” theories when the reality is that no neutral gives a toss?

Haha your vendetta against Brentford (or me, can’t tell) is laughable.

Pretty much every news story around the time Warburton was let go. Plenty of evidence there.

I think it's the accolades he gets from revered managers (Pep, Pochettino etc) which build up this 'legend' about his past.

You're quite right, the honours won section on his Wikipedia page is nothing to write home about. When he starts scrunching up £20 notes in Spanish at his press conferences, that's when I'll start to worry.

You’re doing it again — the issue isn’t with Brentford, or yourself, the issue is that you think the world has an agenda against Brentford. It’s in your imagination.

Tbf I remember at the time a few people on here but mainly Twitter saying that Brentford were ruining Football with their moneyball approach.

Listen to what Bielsa says about Chris Wilder when we played Leeds earlier this season.

He said he would like to have a coffee with him to discuss and learn from his tactics.
Said he’s tried to implement a similar type of system to Wilders in the past but couldn’t do it.
We have centre backs regularly turning up on the wings putting in crosses, it’s crazy.

In fairness I think even the best managers are respectful, open to all ideas and willing to learn. Tactics often evolve and become fashionable so you need to keep up to date.

there's a video out there of Bielsa discussing tactics with Zidane after losing 3-0 to Real Madrid in the copa del rey haha

Bielsa is just a passionate football man, full of integrity and honesty (hense why he admitted the spying early on) it's just in his eyes he never knew in English football it was morally wrong, it's definitely a cultural thing, we only have to listen to what the Southampton manager and Pochettino have said since it was revealed

Leeds have just been caught doing what most teams probably have done for years - even more so when training grounds weren't private as most of them are now.

I am sure they will be warned/fined but some pundits who have been outraged by all this ought to remember they were hardly angels on the pitch and played in the right spirit - Savage/Keown spring to mind!

Bielsa's six hour in-depth analysis is obviously done by other managers too.
Neil Warnock, for example, gets someone who owns a mobile to Google the postcode of the ground where they're about to play and gives it to the coach driver.

Fair play to Bielsa [excuse the cracking pun there].

Immediate demotion to the National League North
Reckon Leeds'd still get back into the PL before you, tbf.
