In my time, I can only think of the following.

Feethams:
Probably Man City who brought a couple of thousand.

Arena:
Hartlepoool United brought 4500.

Blackwell Meadows:
York City with around 800.

Last day of 89/90, we were in with a chance of automatic promotion but needed results elsewhere to go our way (they didn't) (vid here)

Went on to lose 4-0 away to Chesterfield in the first leg of the playoffs a week later (which just goes to show that there's no advantage to finishing higher under that system; the new one we have is much better IMO)

During my time following County I've seen us allocate about 3,500 to the opposition several times, never more than that though. Some of the times we played City there were plenty of them in the home sections, no surprise since everyone knows they're all from 'round here anyway.

I think we had about 3,000 at Edgeley Park for the final game of the 2009-10 season, when we needed to win to avoid relegation.

As mentioned above Sunderland for us at Prenton Park some time around the mid nineties when they were premier league bound. I was only young so have very little memory of the day.

My mum worked in a pub at the time and always goes on about how they took over every pub within a ten mile radius of Prenton Park. Those who couldn’t get near a pub raided the off licences and supermarkets and drank on the streets.

They must of had at least 8,000 there that day.

We don't get mega numbers up here, the usual big boys like Leeds/Southampton/Forest/Portsmouth from our better days always sold out the 1000+ tickets in the away end.

Seem to remember Preston North End taking over the town one year, looking it up it was the end of the 95/96 season, think they were on course to win the league, they were given our main stand which holds over 3k and the usual away end, our average for that season was about 1,500 and there was 5,000 there that day can't find any figures online but there must've been about 4k Preston fans there that day

Lincoln had somewhere around 2200-2500 against us in a couple of the league games. 2000 on the town end and a couple hundred or more in seats

Tuesday (maybe Wednesday?) night. We lost 1-0. Ex-Imp Franny Green scored IIRC.

Beevers missed a sitter for us and I think Forrester may have had a goal disallowed.

I remember Wolves bringing 3k plus in 2014 when we were both battling at the top of L1. We also took over 2k to Molineux (Over 30k at that game)

Other games already mentioned in the 10 years previous to 2014 like Southampton, Leeds, Leicester, Sheff Wed, Millwall, Notts Forest, Norwich all in league matches. Oh yesterday.

The one where it all went off at the end of the game. Well for the 4 lads, myself included and the bus driver who had the balls to get off the coach and help out the Harrogate dad who was about to get a kicking. Rest of the wet wipes stayed on board the coach pissing their pants. Speaks volumes.


Back to topic....the Rangers fans who came down for Stuart McCalls testimonial were a sight to behold. They filled the midland road and kop for a mid season friendly. Over 11000 and the sights pre and post match are the stuff of drinking legends.
