You're loaning Earl from us as soon as you're allowed.
Should I be excited about this, or is it like the Pringle scenario?

Nah Pringle is shit, Earl is a very good prospect but needs to be playing.

Big unit, decent pace when he gets going, comfortable on the ball.

That said, he's a bit slow on the turn and can overplay at times, which means he can get caught occasionally.

Personally I think his future lies as a left-sided centre back, rather than a left back.

I think he'll do well.

i'm guessing just because we expect you to bring numbers, we're too posh to have a firm so it's not like we're anticipating fisticuffs or anything

Any Bolton fans keen on a joint protest next week? Should tickets go on sale soon, there should be 2000+ Coventry fans, many of which staying away from St Andrews.

Let down by the football league.

Appleton is the administrator, the same guy who said he had no option but to let SISU take over Coventry I believe as they were the highest bidder.

Odd as the company Rubin & Partners did a decent job with Blackpool's receivership, albeit they were different circumstances and a different guy was in charge.

From what's been put out publicly it doesn't look likes he's had much choice in the matter, a court has ordered the sale to halt.
In fact I think he's done Bolton a favour by seemingly not telling the EFL about the legal proceedings and therefore getting them to start the season by providing everything from Ventures about future running of the club.

If this is dragged out I can't see how Bolton can continue, they won't be paying any of their creditors, no funds to get any players in etc.... The EFL have given Bury notice to chuck them out due to their belief that they don't have a plan to pay creditors, think they'll be a bit miffed if worse comes to worse but Bolton are allowed to carry on.

Yep, this. Some how between him and the EFL CCFC were sold back to SISU under the name Otium.

Some Bury fans think noblot are getting treated better than Bury by the EFL
I think our chairman is the block, refusing to cooperate with them and just being a total dick.
Good luck noblot, really hope we both survive and the rest of you get that petition signed. It won't help either of the A58 cripples but it might help you lot should God forbid you end up in the sale shit.

IMO neither Bury or Bolton should have started the season. In fact, regardless of any takeover, they shouldn't have been allowed to play a game until after the transfer deadline and the postponed games should have been played in midweek's prior to the January transfer window so everyone plays the same squad once.

Not ideal, but that's more of a level playing field than allowing Wycombe to win 2-0 against their U18 side yet come October, Bolton will no doubt field a completely different side.

Go on, explain why. Whether you like the situation or not, with both club, the EFL sanctioned the purchase of both clubs by parties that had dubious histories, and yet found nothing wrong in regards to their fit and proper tests.

In our case (Bolton), shaun harvey (EFL chief exec) twice came out and first said what a good Job Anderson was doing, and then said he had checked and Anderson proved that he had the monies to take us to the end of the season (both or which now look to be incorrect).

The EFL have proven time and time again to be completely useless in their duties. They hold a golden share in all clubs, yet devolve any responsibility in regards to the integrity of te game.

Don't get me wrong, my club has caused a lot of issues with its previous owner and our debt from the premiership, but where was the EFL in regards to their duties? I am sure supporters of Wimbledon, Portsmouth. Coventry, Bury, Hereford, Aldershot, Stockport etc may feel the same way

I've outlined why in my previous post. The teams you play after August could, in theory, play a different side to the ones you play in August due to the transfer deadline (admittedly free agents can still sign after August but Wycombe have been give a 'gimme' 3 points, for example).

I'm not disputing anything with regards to the EFL, I've said earlier in this thread (or the Bury one) that they're useless.

What is the quality of the pitch likely to be like? Heavy rain forecast all night and all of tomorrow, any chance of this being called off anyway?

We have had to register all our players, we currently now have 20+ (so why can't bring any more then 6 now), the issue is, we can't play half the players we have registered because we are still technically in administration, so can't officially pay them, and in theory can't play until we come out of admin. The team we put out against wycombe were the only players registered whilst we were in admin, and the EFL allowed us to play an extra three as we couldn't fill the bench. Yes the team will differ IF we eventually come out of admin, but they won't be any more then the EFL allow all clubs who can sign none registered players outside of the transfer window

Pitch looked okay when I was up there on Wednesday, it drains extremely well in bad weather, you should be more worried about the state of the seats and whether there will be any kiosks open. My advice, bring your own grub and drink

And that's my point. In theory, and in all likelihood, you'll be fielding a different side post-admin, which puts the Clubs you play prior to that at an advantage.

I worded it as the end of August, when that was perhaps the wrong wording to use. I meant more when you're out of admin.

You obviously haven't seen who we have signed/registered :)

See Bolton have called off their game with Doncaster citing concerns about their young players. Another points deduction?

No, the EFL's own rules state that you cannot force under 23's to play more than two consecutive league games in a week, this is the reason why we couldn't play the cancelled Brentford match last season with under 23's, as it would have broken the EFL rules, considering we only have 3 current first teamers over 23, it would have been an issue, there are health and safety concerns etc. I am just astounded it took them until today to see sense and give the young lads a chance to recover

I'll say it again, last season when the players refused to play against Brentford, the EFL tried to force a team of under 23's and under 18's to play the match, they were told by their own compliance team that they could not enforce that as the two teams had already played twice that week.
Just to focus your minds, this is a team made up of 14 under 23's nd 3 over 23's. How many teams in the EFL have 90% of their first team made up of scholars. Also, these young lads have played 4 matches in 11 days.
Whether you like it or not, these lads are playing against full time established professionals, something they have come up against
