This was bonkers last season, one of the most memorable games in years. If we have half as much fun this time round it'll be good!

After Tuesday night's debacle Howe was absolutely furious, about as angry as I've ever heard him. Hopefully that anger can act as a kick up the arse to the squad. The trouble is, the utter failure of the 'bench 11' to give any suggestion that they want a league starting 11 berth might mean that the regular league starting 11 will come back in safe and secure in their place, even though a few of them are well down on last season's form.

If we can get Arter back in midfield snapping into challenges, and get Wilshere feeding Wilson and King, and if we can get Cook and Francis at the back on a good day rather than a brain-fart day - maybe we can do something here.

On the other hand Everton seem to have started life under Koeman strongly, and they have plenty of different threats. It's a tough game and one I'd definitely take a point from.

We were exactly the same on Tuesday. 6 changes, and I would be shocked to see any of those 6 in the starting lineup again tomorrow. Barkley will still start though because we have nobody else, the lazy twunt. Needs to get his finger out.

I still have recurring nightmares about last season's game, so a nice leathering, like 5 or 6-0 might just help me get over it.

Nah, think we'll win but it wont be that comfortable.

Yup, last season provides one of my favourite Bournemouth memories. Without that Stanislas goal we would never have gone on to beat Chelsea and Man Utd in the next two weeks.

Going to be horribly tough today, Everton have to lose at some stage but for me I just want to see a reaction from Tuesday. One of the best traits Eddie has is that he rarely let's bad performances linger, there is normally some form of reaction. Whether that'll be enough to get anything out of today is questionable, I'd be delighted with a point.

Harry Arter. What a bloke. Barkley: "just a shit Harry Arter"! Superhuman effort and aggression, and quality when needed from Arter today

Together with Surman (best he's played in months) and Wilshere's composure, the midfield was ours. And that platform provided for the most complete Cherries performance since Feb or March.

Everton for their part never really got going, at least until we dropped deep, a little too deep for my liking, and we came under pressure for the final 20. Which was dealt with pretty professionally, for the most part.

Bar Evertons header in the first 5 mins of the game, I don't think they had a shot on target? Very rare we can say that.

And Stanislas just loves scoring against Everton doesn't he! Belter, hit at an important time when we were just starting to wonder of our first half superiority would go goalless.

We tend to play our best stuff in bursts of games, perhaps that can be the start of something as we head over to our pals Watford.

Barry hit one late first half? I can't remember another half chance, never mind something that had any of you worried.

And calling Barkley a shit Harry Arter is offensive to Arter. There are central midfielders in League Two who would have more impact than Barkley. He's a fraud, an absolute joke. One lazy, weak little get who strolls around like he's Zlatan, when he's not and never will be the player he thinks he is. I've seen enough, belting a few long rangers and a few stepovers don't make you a competent footballer. He's had enough warnings and kicks up the arse. Koeman made am example of him and his lack of work rate 2 weeks ago, he's been dropped from the England squad. If these very obvious wake up calls are being ignored now, he'll never learn. Another wasted English talent who believes his own hype. I'm yet to see a world class player who doesn't also work hard. Messi, Neymar, Suarez, Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic, Aguero, you don't see any of them strolling around and expecting the likes of Bournemouth to lie down and let then take the piss out of them.

You don't win games on hard work alone, but you won't win any game without working hard for it. Work rate was the difference today. Few chances for either side, Bournemouth wanted it and worked for it. We put in one of the most half arsed lazy performances I've ever seen. Even in a bad performance, you can normally at least pick out a player who was less shit than the others. I'm even struggling to do that. Probably Williams, because he at least stood up to Bournemouth's physicality, rather than crying like a bitch about it like Jagielka did.

Barkely is tosh, if he wasn't English he'd not be a regular Premier League starter, no chance.

Thought we were fantastic today, stand out performance since Newcastle away back in March, or maybe Southampton at home before that.

Our intensity and desire was summed up by Harry Arter, who genuinely put in one of, if not the, best individual performance I have seen in a Cherries shirt. £4k from Woking was a steal considering today he completely showed up the very average Barkley, and the very experienced Barry. He also outshone Wilshere, who did have a very good game himself. Ibe, Surman, Smith and Stanislas also had big games today.

Seems weird not to mention the cracker of a strike from Stanislas, an absolute belter.

I hope this can be a good springboard for us, we have a few very winnable fixtures coming up and the confidence from today will be massive.

Barry apparently picked up a knock first half and was expected to be subbed at half time. I'm guessing he wanted to try and run it off and couldn't.

I'll excuse the likes of him and Gueye for that today, it's a one off, they've both been outstanding so far this season and were surrounded by pap with zero movement ahead of them. Barkley it's a regular thing though. I've questioned his attitude for nearly 2 years now. I don't think being managed by Martinez helped, telling him he's godlike all the time and never criticising him. Only so much can be blamed on the manager though, ultimate responsibility comes from a player himself.

I also think the fact he has no competition for his place has made a real difference as well. Martinez's first season, we finished 5th and he was great. But he also had the likes of Osman and all his experience, and Naismith also playing in his position. Martinez falling out with Naismith, and Osman getting older and playing less games since mean Barkley has been uncontested in his position for 2 years nearly.

I may be wrong here, but I'm getting the impression that Smudge doesn't rate Barkley.

Maybe time for Koeman to have another word with him?

Well done Bournemouth - think you'll stay up quite easily this season actually.

He won't listen. Like I said, not playing for England in Euro's then getting dropped vs Slovenia was one kick, Koeman actually said after that that he had to use it as motivation to get back in the squad with his club form. He then followed it up with a dreadful performance at Sunderland. Another kick up the arse from Koeman. Slight improvement against an awful Boro last week, then reverting to type again today.

Barkley is older than Lukaku and the same age as Pogba. He's not in the same league as either of them. He's closer to Tom Cleverley. And the longer he goes on going backwards, the more convinced I am that he'll be the new Cleverley, and not the new Rooney.
