The 1st of the two massive away games over Christmas. Never seen us win at Bradford, let's hope this time is different. Should be a big crowd there and a good atmosphere.

Should be a decent turnout this one, can't say I'm overly confident though and the fact Josh Morris will score is a given. The early decent football (borderline tika taka after years of Parkinson) has slowly drifted, in line with Hanson becoming undroppable and the goals have worryingly dried up, made worse that we weren't exactly free scoring to start with, not a problem Scunny seem to be having. 0-2 away win.

I just wish he'd fucking drop Hanson. He was bang average 8 years ago, and he's stil a slow, lanky streak of piss who has an utterly shite return for a first choice striker.

Sick to death of his absolutely pathetic performances. I just hope and pray he moves on in the summer.

As LS has said, the good football has disappeared, we're now conceding stupid goals and no longer winning games - all because the management won't overrule his contract in which must surely stipulate he must start when fit.

The side needs a shake up at the minute!

I'd like to see;

Colin Doyle

Tony McMahon
Domain Vincelot
Nathanial Knight-Percival
James Meredith

Timotheé Dieng
Danny Devine

Felipe Morais
Nicky Law
Harris Vuckic

Jordi Hiwula

I think Cullen has been average this season, too.

Bring McMahon back in for Darby if he's fit, let him smash fuck outta Morris.

Change the bastard formation and play the
fucking ball to feet. Is it really too much to ask?

We're more than capable of turning Scunny over, but a lot depends on how big McCall's balls are.

21,361 (1,872 Away)

2-1 City

You know that never in a trillion years would Devine start over Cullen, Devine btw who must have been sh*t hot Vs Port Vale first game (a game I missed), because every time I've seen him since he's been nothing more than alright including giving the ball away Vs Cov for their goal in my first home game, I just don't get the hype to start him other than him being (cringe) 'one of our own'.
I do agree with the sentiment of the rest, a change in formation closer to what we had early on with one up front and no Hanson (at worst just to see if him not being there improves the football again), the dilemma of which useless alternative Hiwula/McNulty is always an issue there though. Likewise McMahon for Darby is on the cards especially after he was taken off last week at Walsall.

I fancy us in this game. An excellent bounce back after the defeat at Rochdale, the home record of a calendar year without defeat secured in style and playing well as a team. 3-0 or 3-1.

We could also surprise Bolton at their place in our next game. Exciting times.

It will be typical City to win this game then lose at home to Bury

If Bradford lose this then that's them not catching scunny this season. Bradford are the best team I've seen this season and fully expected them to be challenging for the title and if they win they still will be but a loss I don't think they could catch scunny.

We usually lose at Bradford and Hanson always plays ridiculously well against us, I'm not that optimistic about tomorrow.

Agree, it could end up being a water shed game for Bradford.

Win and you could finish top 2
Lose and it might lead to a dip meaning you don the even reach the playoffs

So obviously that means it'll end up a draw

We don't score enough to challenge for the top two, only a good transfer window will change that

Poor game really, we had the better of it but wouldn't have scored if we were still playing. Scunthorpe were average but looked dangerous on the break, although very niggly. Ref totally bought it as well and turned what could have been a decent game between two decent sides in front of 21k into a whistle fest.

Frustrating game. We could play until Boxing Day 2017 and not score. Our strikers just aren't interested in getting into the right positions. A lot of a strikers game is about being ready for the ball in the right place and they just don't do it. We've played half the season now and only lost 3 games - yet we're miles off the pace.

Unsure how Scunny are top. Admittedly 90 mins is a small sample size but they weren't close to looking like a top team. Would suspect over the course of the season both Sheff Utd and Bolton will overhaul them.

Alexander set us up for a point today, you could tell that with how we were set up and the subs. I don't really agree with it as we're the team that's top, we should be trying to win games like this. A point isn't a bad result but if we lose at Bolton it will look a lot worse.

For all of Bradford's possession, they didn't really test our keeper much. We probably had the most clear cut chance with Morris blazing over 1 on 1. Not the worst result I suppose.

Morais missed an absolute sitter at the start of the second so disagree that Scunthorpe had the best chance. I reckon both teams looked good going forward but they both really lacked a finishing touch. Morris was quiet for me after I was convinced he would score. Your best player was the black lad on the wing.

Wasn't the Morris chance the one where the guy punched it forward and ran on to cross it for him as well? One of many shockers from the ref.

How do you know this, my friend?

They didn't play particularly well yet got a decent point away at a promotion rival despite this.

That's probably why :dk:

Because I've seen much better teams than Scunthorpe this season.

Yes and you've seen them only once, every team doesn't play well every week. You were the best team I've seen but are already a way behind the top 3. Scunnys league position confirms they are far better that there performance on Saturday,But even then they drew with a team who were 4th. Top of the league, top scorers in the league suggests they will be challenging all the way to me.

Bradford seem to consistently have the worst fans on here. Why won't Scunthorpe finish in the top 2? They have ammased the highest points total after 23 games than any other team and don't seem to have any injury issues.

Newsflash Bradford fans, attendances don't win games, or give you a Devine right to finish above other clubs, just ask Sheffield United or Rochdale. Especially extraordinarily inflated attendances such as Bradfords. About £15 for a season ticket isn't it? Would be getting 6k otherwise like they consistently get in the cup games.

Zzzzzzz, remind me why affordable football is a bad thing (nearly 22,000 there yesterday)? On this Devine right balls you mention, yesterday Scunthorpe were bang average and no where near even other sides we've faced this season, based on that performance it was far from what you'd expect from the leagues best side points wise

1 bad performance by the sounds of it and they still got a comfortable draw at 4th in the league. Barcelona and real Madrid don't play well every week do they. I think a few Bradford fans are a bit bitter that they are already miles behind scunny. And yes affordable football should be praised not taken the piss out of. Wether you'd get 6k or not it's irrelevant it's a great thing your club do. And a few others that do it as well.

It goes without saying that top of the league is top for a reason, I would've thought that's just assumed, just in a post match review of yesterday's game everyone left thinking, 'top of the league, is that it?'. That averaged out over the rest of the season and better teams will finish in the top two, hence the comments, if that's a blip they'll walk the league, who can say. Weren't Gillingham top this time last year?

Yeah we weren't incredible yesterday but that was mainly due to the way we set up. We came for a point and it worked. I don't think we should've just came for a point but I'm not the manager who has got us to top of the league so he's probably right to do so. We're not gonna play incredibly every single week. It weird being told we're not very good from fans of a team 10 points below us.

On the day, I didn't think we were very good. But we were good enough to take a point though. We have been a lot better than we showed at Bradford and we need to find that form again. We haven't been very good for a while now, but we are picking up points. As I said earlier on another thread, before the 4 Christmas games started, we would do well if we came out still in the top 2.

I thought the game was end-to-end for much of the time. It lacked quality and I am not sure whether this was due to the windy conditions or not. Both set of attackers were inept, in particular Bradford's. They should have been at least a couple ahead at half-time. As usual, the home crowd vociferously moaned and whinged at every challenge that was made by Scunny and unfortunately the ref was inept too. He bought into it and there were far too many bullshine decisions in favour of the home side. He wanted to be the centre of attention and ruined the game for me. Whistle happy, as both teams tried to push forward. Scunny came more into it after an hour, as the game opened up. We began to look dangerous and should have scored on more than one occasion. Ineptitude again.

Before the game I had a pleasant hour talking to Bradford fans in a nearby food/drinks establishment. I think the general consensus was that it would be a tight game. Most of the home fans went for a tight victory for the Bantams and I went for a score draw. Little did I know that both sets of strikers would be so crap. In the end, we got the point I predicted and wanted. Before the game, I would have taken a point and was happy enough that is how it turned out.
