Sunderland all over again if they go for that, a disastrous appointment if you ask me. Also, I remember West Ham fans moaning about the style of play Allardyce had them playing, despite them being safe in the top flight at the time. Moyes will be worse.

A shit manager who has gone from one disaster to another since leaving his comfort zone at Everton.

I like Bilic, and there's bigger problems at that club than simply who the manager is.
It wouldn't surprise me if (indeed I hope) Bilic does well at his next club. It might just be a case that too many bridges were burnt for him to last in that job.

I think he's probably got a limited shelf-life at any club. His first season with West Ham was brilliant but there's probably only so long you can be a blood and guts motivator without it losing its impact, and some of his signings were complete dogshit.

He did have a fully motivated Payet pulling the strings for them that year. But yeah, he's an alright manager but I don't think that he's a great tactician type at all. The squad isn't exactly the best and his signings have been pretty pish. I don't think that a depressed David Moyes is the answer they need but we'll have to see who they get and what they can do with the team.

Idiotic decision if they've gone for Moyes, can see them going down now. And even if they stay up, it will be by the skin of their molecules before winding up in that perpetual relegation candidate cycle in the coming seasons. He's not a long term solution, or even a reliable short term one.

Moyes will be confirmed as manager tomorrow apparently.

Most of the time at Sunderland, Moyes looked as if he was just going through the motions. He's always been bloody dour, but Sunderland seemed more than just dour. He looked disinterested from the very start like his heart wasn't in it. He looked like he'd immediately accepted they were going down and he had zero self confidence that he could turn it around.

By all accounts his year at Sociedad involved spending a lot of their money and regressing, leaving them fearing relegation trouble, only for the side to pick up and finish top half after he'd been sacked. He did average 1.2 points per game there, which if repeated at West Ham over the rest of this season would leave them on borderline 40 points, which might satisfy expectations if survival is all they want. But you have to say the Sunderland experience doesn't bode well for even achieving that minimum.

West Ham aren't in quite as bad a situation as Sunderland, and they have a better squad on paper. There's more to management than just charisma. And for Moyes' part you have to feel this will be the last chance saloon for a high level position. So maybe there's more here to get Moyes going again. But at this point he's hardly the bloke you'd turn to for a shot in the arm to a club.

Ok going to give the benefit of the doubt to Moyes since Man Utd. At Sociedad he wasn't given the players he wanted in though he didn't fully settle in himself there and language remained a barrier. At Sunderland he was given virtually no funds and had dredge to work with and no where near even Championship level it seems looking at how they are doing currently.

He will get funds in January from the owners so we'll see then if he can indeed get this side out of the situation it is in. There is a decent side in there.

It's basically his last chance. Crazy that he's been given another top flight job, can you imagine him in an interview?

I can maybe see them being tough to beat with his style and the players they've got. If Carroll stays fit I think it could just about work. But can such a dour guy, with virtually no fan support, in a ground they don't like, really motivate this bunch of players?

West Ham showing everyone how to get relegated in style here.

One of the bigger failures of West Ham this season is their poor recruitment this summer. Siging Hart, Arnautovic and Hernandez looks good on paper, but once you read into them more, they look like poor signings.

Pablo Zabaleta: Thought he was a good signing. Haven't seen him much this year though.
Joe Hart: I'm not going to go full on St Juste on him, but he's certainly lost his way a bit ever since that shitshow at the Euros. Isn't a great keeper anymore, quite error-prone.
Marko Arnautovic: In the words of a Jose Mourinho, he is a superb player when he wants to be but has "the attitude of a child".
Javier Hernandez: Seems over-rated from his time at Manchester United. Had a poor season with Leverkusen last year. He's got 4 goals in 11 games this season, which is relatively average.

It doesn't surprise me West Ham are where they are now. It doesn't surprise me Billic has got the sack. In fact, it doesn't surprise me they've gone for David Moyes, but it is a dire appointment. It seems West Ham haven't even thought of going for any other managers, even Strachan or Pardew would be a more sensible appointment than Moyes.

West Ham have made a number of poor signings under the dildo brothers to be fair. Just in the last year they’ve signed all those above alongside the likes of Andre Ayew, Jose Fonte, Robert Snodgrass and let’s not forget Simone Zaza’s loan.
