3rd home game in a row, and 3rd in 7 days. We've lost our last 3 games, not scored in our last 3 home games, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it become 4 here.

While we looked quite good against Boro, and were very unlucky to come away with nothing, it seemed to me that it was much more that Boro weren't up to their usual standards that night, than we were particularly good. We have a real problem getting chances in the box at the moment (a problem that has become much worse since Smith joined, our last 2 goals were both screamers from distance against Reading...), teams are happy to come and sit deep against us as they know we have troubles defending the counter, and very little in terms of height up front to worry a deep-lying defence.

Still, every team has its problems, and we are still a good team. Think Burnley will win this one though. Gray is just the type of striker our defence will hate playing against, and it's got to be written in the stars that he'll come back and score, especially given his form at the moment.

Hopefully that'll spur us into some type of action in this window, as it's been incredibly quiet so far, much more so than usual.

Would like to see a couple of changes for Friday, I think Smith got it wrong selecting Saunders. Woods had a poor game for me, and has had a couple before then, so could do with a rest. Swift has been poor for me as well of late, hurts our shape and leaves Bidwell under too much pressure.

Button

Colin - Dean - Tarkowski - Bidwell

Diagouraga - McEachran

Canos - Judge - Vibe

He'll be fined for sure. Lost all respect for him, and he was one of my favourite Bee's players.

We're learning some very harsh lessons about how difficult it is to keep quality players.

He gets paid thousands of pounds per week and then refuses to play? Very disrespectful to Brentford, and if it wasn't for the club he wouldn't be where he is today. Like Tom says hope they reject every bid and stick the fucker in the reserves till his contract is up.

Burnley absolutely dominating. I still don't rate Smith as a manager.

Well this is fucking tragic.

Fair play to Burnley, top performance so far.

0-3 doesn't flatter Burnley here, could be more if anything. Absolutely battering them

This is embarrassing stuff. Can't remember getting battered like this for a long time. Burnley look really good though.

Tactically Brentford have been all over the place. There's so much room between their front and back line allowing Burnley to dominate the midfield, Boyd and Arfield are cutting into that space and the FBs are pummeling them down the flanks as the wide players aren't helping back at all. And Vokes is dominating the defence in the air. Smith needs to make big changes 2nd half but the game's pretty much done already.

Much improved after the break. Burnley have dropped the tempo a bit but mainly Brentford are just playing much higher up the pitch. No idea why they didn't first half, can only assume they were worried about Gray's pace in behind.

Good game to watch that. Good effort from Brentford, just left themselves too much to do. At the same time, Burnley were outstanding first half. As good as I've seen from any side all season

8 goals in a week on the road for Burnley - hitting some form.

That first half was pathetic. We've been slowly getting worse for weeks now, it was always going to result in a bit of a hammering at some point but the players should be ashamed at their first half performance.

It's obvious that the players and managers we've brought in to replace those who left aren't as good as what we had, but we're still much better than that performance.

Jota > Canos
Pritchard > Swift
Gray > Vibe
Odubajo > Colin
Tarkowski > O'Connell
Douglas > Woods

Too many changes from our first XI from last year, all the creativity and goal scoring gone apart from Judge. If we sell him we're fucked.

Diagouraga should be let go or put in the reserves as well. His performances have been shocking the past month or so, clearly doesn't want to be here.

James Tarkowski reveals he didn't play vs Burnley because he learned that his mother had a serious incurable illness, and apparently wants to move closer to be with her.

I feel a little guilty for thinking he was a money grabber now.

Without being too cynical or mistrusting, it would seem as if this is a convenient reason for both club and player to present. It's certainly sad news to hear of his mother's illness and we all hope she's comfortable. In any walk of life it's never easy when a relative or friend is unwell and it can understandably mess with your head.

That said, we still fined Tarkowski for his behaviour - he was docked two weeks' wages - and he's been asked to stay away from the squad since, so there's seemingly an additional strand behind this as he was in fine form a few days earlier against Middlesboro. If the reason was solely his mother's illness then we would never have fined him - in fact, we've massively gone out of our way, and lost the services of our of our best players, in order to help out Jota given his family situation. It shows we're an honest and compassionate club, and therefore we wouldn't have fined Tarkowski in such an instance. The general belief among the fan base is that the details included in this personal statement are beneficial for all parties in the short and long term.

A lot of fans were heavily critical of his behaviour a couple of weeks ago, but I've made mistakes as a young man and went about things in a manner I subsequently regretted. For that reason I'm keen to put this episode behind everyone and welcome him back into the fold.

Agree. Happy to forgive him if he can come back into the team and put in performances like he did last year.

If he also agrees a new longer contract to repay the club for helping him out now and letting him come back to the fold, I'd be happier.

His statement doesn't really add up, Jota had family problems and we bent over backwards to help him by letting him go back to Spain. Tarkowski has family problems so we fine him his wages and tell him to stay away??
