Not the most inspiring thread title ! Beer makers v Shoemakers then. Jimmy Floyd is keen on us winning the league 2 title and Chris Wilder's team still have an outside chance of the play offs. Rarely for us its an all ticket match. All the home allocation of seats is sold out(around 2,000) but I will be surprised if we get more than 5,000/6,000 in. Northampton hopeful of bringing 500 plus.
I doubt Shrewsbury will slip up at Cheltenham so I think it is unlikely the Championship trophy will get presented tomorrow if we win. We have only ever secured a title away from home in our history and I think if we do manage to win league 2 we will have to wait until the following week at Cambridge. Albion fans would seem to be thinking the same as I think we have already sold around 1,000 tickets for the trip to the shabby stadium.
There is no danger of taking our foot off the gas or losing focus after securing promotion last weekend and Northampton will be up for the game too so I'm expecting it to be very competitive and close.

Bit annoying its all ticket as generally when my non cobblers supporting mates decide to follow me to away games its a spur of the moment thing. Congratulations Burton fans on the promotion, consistency we are striving for next season.

Although we technically have an outside shot at the playoffs no one really believes all the teams above will slip up, otherwise I reckon we would of sold out or allocation, imagine 700 or so will go anyway, Expecting us to go for it regardless though so expecting an exciting game. 2-2 draw I will go with.

Will Zander Diamond be lining up against us ?
Personally I don't think there was any need to make it all ticket.
I hope the Cobblers do go for it to be honest, it will make for a better game and probably suit us.
Its took us 3 years to finally achieve promotion, its a tough league to get out of !

Not sure whether Zander will start. I feel a bit sorry for him tbh. He is clearly a good centre back at this level but I think exactly the same thing has happened here than it did with you. He was playing reguarly at the start of the season, got injured and then hasnt been able to break back in as Ryan Cresswell and Lee Collins have been very good (Collins in particular). RC was banned for 2 games but his ban has now ended so not sure whether he will slot in again... going with my gut reckon Zander will stay in the team.

Burtons luck against us must run out soon, at Sixfields they won with a "Worldy" free kick, after being outplayed, and that's not the first time they have scored worldys against us and then we had Chris Dunn dropping the ball in his own net and also gifting them 3 goals in the first 10 minutes at Burton one year. But I fancy our chances tomorrow and it's a shame we wont play burton next season as its a good day out , apart from the goal music which I've always thought they played to cover up a lack of noise from the crowd.

Chris Dunn ! He has to face us next week, came on trial here once and really glad we didn't sign him.
Think there will be plenty of noise from the crowd tomorrow.

Goal music is proper tinpot. That being said the free kick Alex Mcdonald scored against us was probably the best one I have ever seen live. No complaint losing to that, thought Burton looked very solid that day aswell. Out of curiosity why was it that he was sold to Oxford?

Out of contract in the summer and I don't think we could offer him a package as good as Oxford, he has a young wife and child and perhaps the security/accommodation Oxford could offer tipped the scales. Macca always gave his all and had a good 1st half of the season this season but in all honesty we havn't missed him at all as we play as a team and have plenty of quality all over.
Can't comment on the goal music !

Should be a good game. Getting the 9:16 train so will be there nice and early. Will be nearly 800 there with a good last day of ticket sales.
