Kicking myself, was supposed to bet on Swindon to go down at the start of the season and forgot.
Spread price on Sporting Index is sell at 53 points - still worth a punt at that. Tenner a point and they end up with 40 - £130, can’t see much downside risk with that.

Might have a nibble.

I thought both them and Colchester have been playing relegation roulette for a few years. It really is the classic way to go down. Club stagnating, owners cut down funding but still expect managers to over perform, sack them and just go into a spiral of decline.
Holloway looks a proper throw of the dice in a time of stats based club management.
We were very close to it under Smurthwaite. I'm certain we would have gone into non league if he'd have stayed another season. As you described was exactly what was happening to our club.

He had and brouht in some good players. Really got a tune out of Billy Clarke, James Hanson and Charles Vernam up top. Brought Josh Benson and Anthony Glennon in on loan from Burnley who both had superb loan spells. Brought in Elliott Grandin who was a bit of a luxury player but could quite clearly play at a level above L2. Also had some decent defenders and hardworking mids at the club in players like Mattie Pollock, Elliot Hewitt and Jake Hessenthaler.

He completely lost the plot once COVID happened though. He's universally despised now after the way he ultimately left us. People are gonna be baying for his blood when we come to you in December now. Nothing against Swindon but I hope he fails miserably and you get him out in time to stay up.
In a way I hope he does ok and still here by the time we play them at home it would actually be a decent atmosphere for once
It’s a shame it ended so bad for Holloway here because as alluded to above he had us playing great football and also he was great in the community regularly turning up at peoples weddings, schools and stuff etc.
Then we as a club, not just him, gambled on the Covid season not finishing and slashed the budget and suddenly the season was carrying in and we were in the shit.
What pissed me off the most with him is that you cannot unfortunately trust a word that he says.

He fed the fans the dream , many bought it at the start and could either enjoy or tolerate his 80's /90's lads mag style type banter and got burnt badly .

He's a charlatan with some sort of mental ilness or personality disorder which although sad doesn't give him the right to behave the way he did with us ; it seems Swindon already have their own version of dishonest John at the helm so motives could already be questioned from the get go .

Owners both panic and get exasperated and unlike other businesses where you can guarantee appointments to work, footballers and managers are like racehorses and don't always perform to the form book.

If Carlisle sack Williamson I'd say they're more likely to go down than stay up despite him having a very poor start because it would just be more churn and unfocused change when what they need is stability.

Believe me, we're not getting any stability under Williamson at all.

His appointment was a mess where we basically ended up with a manager who was not wanted by his previous club MK Dons and it's obvious their sporting director tricked our naive owners into signing him.
It really hasn't worked out for him at all here, he's quickly become very unpopular with the fans and comes across as stubborn, arrogant, tactically Inept, out of his depth and defeated. He has failed to get any fight and spirit out of our team and didn't even get a honeymoon period.

We just need someone who will recognise our situation and inject some belief and passion into the players which is the sort of manager a lot of us wanted anyway before Williamson got the job. No more philosophies about possession football.

Fair enough, you're watching them every week.
Williamson did very well on a shoestring at Gateshead, won a promotion from a team that was going nowhere. He then had his two star strikers poached but kept them up comfortably, leaving them as a play-off chasing team.
If you're not stubborn as a manager you're not doing it right to a degree because you have to impose what you believe on the squad even when it's not going well.
From a distance I'd say you need to give him a transfer window, you're not adrift, a couple of results and the table can look quite a bit better.

The only way I'm winning this David Artell bet is a proper sex scandal job. Something saucy, perhaps involving the ticket office girls. Anyone heard anything or am I best just cashing out and admitting defeat?

Have you seen our ticket office girls?

If he tried it on with any of them he would most likely be sectioned rather than arrested.

There is no next manager in L2 to be sacked market. Stocky is DA.

Video of interview by Jamie DAY popped up on my YouTube inbox.

That prompted me to read his Wiki page

MK Dons have done good employing him as 1st team coach; he’s a regular winner.

One must ask if Jamie & Scott Lindsey are a winning double act – they’ve managed Swindon, Crawley & MK together in past few years.
