Wow. Thought before the game with that team Johnson was either going to look like a genius or an idiot, he's sitting pretty right about now. Reid and Freeman were outstanding.

Funny thing is, Weds were far better for the first 10, and if not for a fantastic save from O'Donnell from a 1-on-1 it could've been very different. We scored from our first 2 forays into their half and from then on while they played it about nicely enough in the middle we had them at arms length and were murdering them on the counter.

Reminiscent of our trip up there opening day in reverse, and in fact what loads of teams were doing to us at the start of the season so it shows how we've really come of age at this level.

That's a far better win than Bolton for me as while they were truly woeful Weds are clearly a very decent outfit, albeit on an off day, so the way we just swept them aside augers well for next season.

Great timing as well - a performance like that'll add another 1K worth of ST sales!

After the save from O'Donnell with McGeady City came back into it and deserve all the credit for their win, I left at 3-0 so the second half is non negotiable. I'd love to whinge but that isn't my style, Tomlin was better than I've ever seen him, the through pass on the second was clinical.

Referee was fair if a little picky, impressed by the New Gate but noise wise it was poor despite battering us. Be nice to see that west stand finished.

Cheers boys
Fair enough Walkley.

FWIW I don't think the scoreline was a true reflection, we were just very clinical for a change. You played some lovely stuff and you've got a fucking excellent player on your hands in Bannan.

You'll make the POs and give 'em a right go.

Best performance of the season IMO. We were clinical for a change.
Forestieri is some player as is Bannan but that big lump up front for Wednesday did the square root of fook all up against Flint and Baker.
Nice for RoD to score for his favourite club as well.
Best of luck in the play offs Wednesday, I have nothing but good things to say about your support. I had a quick beer in the Wetherspoons on North St with a few of them and they were genuinely nice fellas.
All strength to you but don't play like that again.
Well played City!! :2thumb:
Oh by the way, you must have some bloody huge garden sheds in Sheffield!! Cheeky buggers.

What a complete change to Tuesday night. Which makes Tuesday all the more strange. Back to our normal formation and could of been out of sight at half time. So much enjoyable to watch when Pack and Smith come deep to collect the ball from the back four than than seing flint and Baker hoof the ball up to wilbs for 90 miniutes.

Bring on next season. Good work Lee and Co.

Did play the ball round well but very lightweight in midfield. The main reasons why Bobby had such a good game.

Walkley, where was the right back who played at yours on the opening day of the season? Absolutely tore us to shreds today, the right back you had on today was getting fucking stripped every time by Tomlin.

A bit unfair. Tomlin was pure class in the first half. Any full back would have looked daft up against him today. There were rumours that we are sorting out a deal for him. God, I hope they're true.

Also Helan, bit of a beast. Why is he out on loan?

Very quickly it became clear that you needed to take that lump off up front. If Weds decided to play faster tempo footy on the ground, you'd cause us more problems. CC had a tactical nightmare and it took him too long to realise. Once the changes were made it looked like a whole different game.

Fair play to LJ. He put in our 'ball players' up front and took a bit of physicality away from our game. He has done very well.

The Rotherham game had to be a physicial encounter and he anticipated no football to be promoted by Warnock. This game, he knew that Weds have players who can.... PLAY!

Fair play to our young gaffer, he dealt his cards right and gave us an opportunity to showcase some decent football against a decent side. Did it ever pay off.....
