That was crap but I'm not too disheartened. To be forced into making those changes without so many key players (Baker, Paterson, Smith) was always going to make things hard. Just shows we need a lot more strength in depth if we want to challenge. I'm not taking anything away from Leeds by the way. Good side.

Leeds player sent for a stamp by the looks of it, but why did Taylor get shown a red?

I thought Taylor made a meal of it but Lee Johnson has said Taylor has a broken nose. He used to do that at the gas so no surprise he still does it here.

Apparently being on the receiving end of a headbutt is a red card offence...

Not to make excuses though, we were shit. Flint had a nightmare, Hegeler isn't Nathan Baker, Marlon Pack forgot how to pass a ball properly, Brownhill looked a bit dodgy, O'Dowda did fuck all, Reid couldn't control the ball for his life, and Woodrow barely touched the ball (again). No idea why Johnson left Diedhiou out, but apart from that it looked like we really suffered from a mini injury crisis. We really did miss Baker and Smith, and looked a shadow of ourselves this season without them. It almost seemed we had accepted we couldn't win this game before it had even started sadly, we never really looked quite right.

Leeds on the other hand were superb: Lasogga made intelligent and quick runs, Saiz had Flint on toast, Phillips' passing was superb, Veira tackled everyone and everything and the centre-backs didn't look half bad. Christensen made a very good decision to play with 3 central midfielders: we don't play at the quickest tempo ever and can't really go route one, so whenever we got the ball we were easily crowded out by the Leeds midfield.

All in all, that was pretty shite. I'd like to say I'm not too concerned but it's hard not to be baring in mind the events of last season.
